Location is excellent, 5 minutes from the Royal Mile, 10 mintes from Princes Street and Waverley Station. This is a budget hotel and expectations should reflect this. However, breakfast was described on Booking.Com as very good but I would rate it as extremely average at best. There was no option for eggs other than scrambled. There were no mushrooms, black/white pudding etc. The sausages were cheap to say the least and possibly deep fried and I fail to see what makes this a Full Scottish Breakfast! Friends staying at the Premier Inn had a far superior experiece and paid less. If I stayed here again I would decline the Breakfast option and eat at Costa next door. One of the lifts was not working for the whole weekend leaving one lift during a pandemic. Really? There was no sign of maintenance at all. Otherwise, the stay was OK. Staff were friendly and helpful and the room was adequate and clean.

Had a long weekend in fabulous to Edinburgh. Hotel is in a great location right in the heart of the old town. Staff are lovely so polite and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is beautiful and such good value for money. Hotel is also spotlessly clean, we will stay here next time we visit.

I stayed for three nights; I got free early check in (1pm) and late check out (5pm) because of my ALL Gold status, and had no trouble taking up this perk. The staff were lovely and couldn't be more helpful, I always felt welcome returning to the hotel at the end of a day. They were happy to lock up my bike in their storage cupboard (minor stuck lock issue aside, which they quickly resolved!), or outside on their racks (which were securely behind a locked gate). They were happy to store my bags on the last day after I checked out. The hotel is well-set up with COVID protective measures. My premium room (974) was a good size and well-kept, and had good views towards Arthur's Seat and one of the University of Edinburgh buildings. The bed was comfier than mine at home; the Ibis rooms really put their money where it counts.

My wife and I traveled up to Edinburgh by train for a Saturday stop over on Saturday 08/05/2021. We arrived early at the hotel about 11.15. This was with the idea of leaving the overnight case however the room was ready and we checked in.The girl on reception was extremely helpful so a welcome start. We were directed to room 807 accessed by lifts .The room was comfortable and warm and clean and had shower and washing facilities and stocked. With the covid problems this hotel was well organised , the one down side was due to covid breakfast was restricted to continental only and for the price I would eat out next time. You order when you arrive and its in the restaurant on a tray at the time you request. That said the hotel is less than 10 mins walk from the rail station and in the middle of the main areas. I would definitely use again.

Stayed here a couple of nights for a break in Edinburgh. The hotel is in an excellent location for exploring the city with the sights, shops and eateries all within easy reach. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The bar is well stocked with a good selection of drinks. I didn't try the breakfast as they were only serving continental style due to Covid restrictions. I would definitely stay here again if I was to make a return visit.
