This hotel was 5 star in every way! We were in Edinburgh for 4 days and enjoyed the wonderful location on the Royal Mile, the very attentive staff and the quality of the rooms. The rooms/apartments are all very updated and modern and depending on the type of room you book some have balconies and beautiful views. Upon arriving we had some issues with our room but Pedro at the front desk went above and beyond to make everything right by upgrading our room! When there is a problem there is a lot to be said in how it is handled. This hotel takes great measures to make sure every customer has a satisfactory stay. Thank you for a great stay and in particular to Pedro for the incredible service!
The housekeeping service did not restock the toilet paper or the tea and we ultimately purchased our own so we would have what we needed. The hairdryer was missing the screen that prevents hair from being sucked into the fan/heating element. I did not think to examine the hairdryer to ensure that it had a protective screen before using it because this has never been an issue at any other hotel. The first morning I began drying my hair and immediately had a large 3” long section of hair, from the frame of hair around my face, that was sucked into the fan/heating element. The hair entangled in the fan and instantly began to smoke from contact with the heating element. I had no choice but to cut off that large section of hair. It will take 2 years to grow back all the hair that I lost and in the meantime my hair will look obviously uneven. I honestly think that I am luck that I turned off the hairdryer so quickly as the section of hair caught in the element was beginning to smoke so the situation could have been much worse. The front staff gave me a cheap bottle of wine as compensation; meanwhile I will be looking at the damage to my hair for the next two years. For the price the hotel charges I expected toilet paper and safe appliances. Would not recommend.…
A very pleasant few nights stay in the nice comfortable and peaceful haven of Cheval Chambers. The apartment was well equipped and oozed quality. Bed was wonderful and slept like a log after walking miles round the city!
Every one of our 8 family members want you to know this was such a joy of a place to base our Scotland adventure! Don't miss out on the service and especially the warmest Scottish hospitality you will ever experience!!
First, the location could not be beaten. Directly opposite St. Giles cathedral. Next, comfort. Could not fault the apartment. Luxurious, with lovely free toiletries, fast wifi and comfortable beds. The free fresh milk in the fridge was very welcome. Lastly, staff. All friendly, with excellent customer service. Overall, could not fault it
Perfect location able to walk to everything we were hoping to see in Edinburgh. Staff was A+ and so friendly. Apartment was well appointed and was so nice to have a washing machine and a sitting room and kitchen. Bath products are also very high quality. Highly recommend!!
The room was pristine, like it had never been used. Attention to detail in the furnishing and artwork was a nice touch. Fresh coffee and milk in the room was welcome. And reception staff were really helpful - even offering running routes for me when I mentioned I might go for a run in the morning of my short stay. A really pleasant stay.
Excellent location, high quality of the room and amenities, friendly and cooperative staff - all this we found in the Cheval Old Town Chambers. Three elevators made coming to/from the room very east and fast. Remarkable view from the room. Next time - definitely stay here again.
This is by far the best hotel on the Royal Mile, although they like to be referred to as residences. The rooms are huge suites. The entrance to the hotel is on the actual Royal Mile (High Street), so you step out right into the action, yet the rooms and hotel are quiet and tranquil. This is the boutique luxury hotel experience with a restaurant on property to make meals easy. Of course, you can prepare your meals in your room in the full kitchen if you like that. Overall wonderful stay. Ben the manager is amazing.
Lovely small apartment well-suited for a city break. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The television worked well (even plugged in my switch and played MarioKart). The bathtub was deep and soothing, and shower worked well. The table was awfully tight for seating but worked. The dishes were extraordinarily well-kept. And the Cheval app is awesome. The staff really made it a special stay - warm, hospitable, and helpful.
