Great location in the Old Town close to Waverley Station. Staff are very friendly and attentive who go out of their way to ensure that you have a nice stay and are very helpful if you have any queries. Rooms are clean and modern - would recommend this hotel if you are visiting Edinburgh

This hotel was perfect, centrally situated, minutes from both the old and the new town. All areas of the hotel were clean and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The decor is modern and fresh and both the reception and bar areas feel welcoming. Our room did feel cold, on the first night (as a previous review had mentioned) but as soon as we mentioned this a heater was supplied to our room with no further issues.

The rooms were clean and tidy. There is no wardrobe or drawers for your clothes etc. however there were some clothes hangers. The hotel is near Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile. I would recommend this centrally based hotel for a short stay break

Arrived and we were ‘upgraded’ from the room with a skylight. At no point did our booking tell us that the room we had originally booked had no window! Room was basic and cold so turned heating up and went for dinner. Returned to freezing room - thermostat broken and solution offered was a bar heater. For £100 a night I will not be returning. On top of this, went for coffee in bar before coming up to room - 25min wait for 2 cappuccinos.

Motel One does a great job being exactly what it is supposed to be - a budget minded hotel in a great location. The breakfast included with the stay is just OK... not much quality there. The room was clean and comfortable. I'd stay here again if I needed to watch my budget.
