Fantastic hostel which helped me and a friend with a very last minute booking. We couldn't find any accommodation in Edinburgh but the Argyle managed to squeeze us in. Jackie, the lady I spoke to on the phone was incredibly helpful! Great asset to the hostel. The hostel is clean and very friendly! The bed was comfortable and the bathrooms... More

I stayed in a 3- bed private room over a weekend. All bathrooms are shared, super clean and I never had to queue. Staff was amazing, very helpful and friendly. Argyles used to be two houses that were connected into a hostel, so you have two kitchens fully equipped, nice garden and conservatory (great place for breakfast). Also there is... More

Primarily the location is almost perfect. Next to the picturesque meadows park and close enough in walking distance into the centre. There are also good bus routes too. The downside may well be the parking as I had to park 25 minutes walking distance away. The kitchens look homely and the bedroom and facilities were more than satisfactory given the... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Argyll we had a double room and the bath was just across the hall so very convenient. The staff were helpful and the atmosphere low-key and relaxed. Enjoyed waking early and having coffee and some breakfast on the sun area off the kitchen. The bed was more comfortable than I thought but a bit short... More

This was the first time in Edinburgh the member of staff was not very friendly or informative. If you pay by card they take the card out the back which shouldn't be the case. We also had to ask for a receipt as this wasn't supplied. The room was on the top floor small but adequate. Shower temp was warm... More

Dear Steven, Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. I am sorry to read your stay with us wasn't entirely pleasurable. Our card machine wasn't working when your checked in, so to pay by card we would have had use our online payment system. I understand that this isn't ideal and I apologies for any inconvenience.... It is a good choice for a stay in Edinburgh. The staff is friendly, is clean and is not far from the city center. The toilets, which are shared are clean and everything works fine. It also has two kitchens in which flow can use whenever you want. If returned to Edinburgh I would stay here. Good value for money.

Very quiet room set in a good location. The room was cheap, clean and cozy. The staff were pleasant enough although it would have been nice if they had engaged in a little conversation with us (even if it was just to tell us where the toilets were located, facilities or check out times). I had to go down in... More

I spent one week in this hostel and is very nice, warm and comforatable. I felt like at home. They offer facilities at a cheaper price than other hostels in the city. I liked a lot the conservatory they have with a piano and guitars, and also the garden, living room and rooms; everything is cosy and well decorated. Also... More

We decided to go on a trip to Scotland and found this place at a very reasonable price. As I walked through the meadows to reach the place, I saw immediately that this is in a nice area, quiet but close to the center. I entered the premises and was immediately greeted and after getting our keys the lovely woman... More

Great hostel. Familiar and cosy. You will feel yourself at home for a very nice price. Kitchens are clean and tidy. Staff is incredibly friendly. They will help you out with anything you need, even with the laundry. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with TV shelves, closet, etc. Living room and patio perfectly equipped and well-appointed (guitars, piano, books,... More
