Fantastic weekend stay here! The owners, Val and Tod, are lovely, very welcoming and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The rooms are spotlessly clean and very warm and cozy. Bed was really comfortable, especially the pillows!! The location is perfect, being close to everything and with a great range of good pubs, restaurants and shops just a...

Excellent location just off Princess Street. The lady on reception was very helpful and friendly. The bathroom was slightly small but otherwise I couldn't fault the room. I only stayed one night but the hotel definitely contributed to an excellent short break in Edinburgh

If you as a hotel are on working in the rooms you should warn your guests before arriving or at least said so when we met the owner. For only a bit more you are more than able to find other accommodation and more less the same location or even better. There is no double glazed window so it is...

A clean and comfortable guesthouse in an amazing location - 5 minute walk to the main Princes Street and 20 minutes to the Castle. We stayed on the very top floor with the shared bathroom facilities, but never had any problems with this. The bathroom was large, clean and we never had to wait for it. The staff were so...

The Townhouse is lovely - bright, warm and lovely staff. Very friendly and accommodating and really central. It's just off George Street which had amazing Christmas lights at the time of my stay. Princes Street is a couple of minutes away, and the views of the castle from the street are lovely. I'd definitely book again.

Fiance and I stayed at Edinburgh Townhouse last weekend as we were in Edinburgh for a wedding. All staff were really polite, helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and good value for money we felt. Location was absolutely perfect, right in the city centre, walking distance to pretty much everything! Would definitely recommend a stay here :)

Stayed for two nights, perfect location for us. Check in was quick and easy. Room was beautiful and cosy. Had everything we needed, hairdryer, fluffy towels and iron on request. Plenty of tea and coffee, which was restocked each day. The lady on reception was very helpful and knowledgable. We flew from London and took a taxi to hotel but...

Staying in New Town

Neighborhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighborhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
