Stayed 1 night in August during the festival. As for quiet room and that is what we got. Clean and tidy on arrival. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Hair dryer available from reception. Can leave bags behind reception after checkout so you don't have to carry them around with you. Very centrally located.

This hotel is excellently placed for the centre of Edinburgh. Not the most attractive of entrances. Reception staff very welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful. Lifts to all floors. Room was nice, clean tidy nice shower room. Price was high as it was the Tattoo but a great place for a break to visit Edinburgh

We had a truly truly fantastic room at the front of the hotel for our week long stay!!!! I very much appreciate that since we're long distance tourists. The front desk staff repeatedly went above and beyond the call of duty to help us out with extra issues we had. The hotel is very very basic, so don't expect too... More

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel, as we were up for a friends wedding. Room was like a cupboard size and you couldn't even get two of you in the bathroom at the same time. It was small and claustrophobic. Breakfast should you choose to order one was left in a box outside your room, thankfully we didn't waste... More

The room was bright, clean and spacious. It is basic but we were only using it as a base to explore Edinburgh so it suited our needs fine. There was an initial issue with a stained pillowcase but I mentioned it to staff on arrival and they dealt with it straight away. We had no further issues with the room.... More

We stayed at this hotel during the Easter break, on arrival it was difficult to allocate at first. Hence on arrival we was on the 6th floor, on the main Princes Street and viewing the bridge leading to Royal Mile. We was very lucky with our room and could not fault anything. This hotel is right opposite Waverely station and... More

Well situated for our trip to Edinburgh. This hotel gives you all you need and is close to everything but quiet enough to sleep at night. Bust weekend planned so had no need to find a hotel with a view. This was perfect for us so would recommend.

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighborhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
