This was our third stay here in15 years so we must like it! Beautifully furnished in a quiet neighborhood, the rooms are spacious and airy. The full Scottish breakfast is very good but does not vary from morning to morning. It can be a pleasant 30 minute walk along the Waters of Leith pathway but there was construction underway and... We have delighted in the company of Michael and Vivian Scott and their lovely property. We have stayed with them on two occasions; once as an entire family and again just the two of us. The Scotts are gracious hosts and the rooms are large and beautifully furnished. We love the walk into downtown Edinburgh along the river path. The... More

Windmill House is a fabulous B&B, a gem in Endinburgh, short distance from the airport, little far out of town, a green island. Easy bus connections to the city. The Georgian house is simply beautiful, very well equipped. The rooms are luxurious and big, not to be compared with standard B&B rooms. Each room is individually designed, for instance there... My husband and I stayed here over the rugby weekend. It was a lovely house set in a very quiet corner of Edinburgh. I expected to be "wowed" as it was £150 a night for room only, an extra £15 a head for breakfast! Sadly I feel for that money it was just not worth it!! I got up at... More

This is a great place to stay. Rooms are large and luxurious in quite a stunning house. Most taxi drivers don't know of it. Within easy walking distance to Murrayfield stadium, and a good walk to Royal Mile/Princes Street. Breakfast was good, but not sure it was worth the extra £15 each, but that could have been to do with... More

The Windmill House is a little far out of town, but all the taxi drivers knew where it was located. Vivien was a gracious hostess and helped with reservations and information about her town. The bedrooms were large with en-suite and the breakfasts were plentiful. We stayed there for our first few nights in Edinburgh, so it was a wonderful... More

What a grand surprise the Windmill House gave us while on our Scotland adventure - simply BEAUTIFUL! it's a stately manor house - actually built 15 yrs ago - but truly a slice from the grandest of old Britain. Gigantic rooms and baths with fantastic views out to stunning English gardens and very comfy beds. Vivien and Alister are friendly... More

This place is absolutely elegant and the hosts are wonderful. The appointments are first-rate. It is really like living in a manor house. The room I slept in was expansive with a lovely green leafy view. My recommendation is that if you have a car, like elegance and want to do some relaxing-- this is the place for you. If... More

I stayed at Windmill House a long time ago but couldn't resist writing a review when I came upon this at Trip Advisor. The B&B is located a bus ride away from the city centre but that's worth staying here for. In any case the walk from the main street is very pretty. The B&B has enormous rooms with beautiful... My second visit to Windmill House was as fabulous as the first. It continues to offer the same high standards of comfort, cleanliness, excellent breakfast and warm, friendly hosts. The double aspect windows to the bedrooms make the already large rooms feel even more spacious. The river walk to Dean Village is very pretty. A short bus/taxi ride from the... More
