I had the twin ensuite room (room 8) which is the only one on the ground floor. There are some steps up to the property but I was able to get my wheelchair in with assistance. I was happy with the room, beautiful high ceilings on the ground floor. Shower was good and comfy beds. Breakfast was lovely. I would suggest that a couple more bread options would improve it. There was only one scone left on my last day, perhaps some croissants and pastries?

We had no issues with the self check-in and the room looked neat and tidy upon arrival. The owner later came and checked that everything was ok which was appreciated. Breakfast was good in the mornings and it was easy to sleep in the evenings both being a quiet inn but also being located a bit away from the main street. Wi-Fi was a bit shifty but not a major issue. For a visit in Edinburgh I see no reason not to stay here!

This bnb is not obviously fabulous but where it lacks glamour it makes up for in heart. Also I have to say the owner Peter went out of his way to ensure that my luggage was returned to me after the inept courier service took too long. A very kind gesture. I usually don't prefer bnbs because it feels like you're in someone's home and there is little privacy. I appreciated Cherrytree because everyone keeps to themselves and lets you do your thing! Would stay again!

I will start with the good points, good location, with free off road parking, then I'm afraid it's down hill from there. Check in, no one there to meet us, an envelope taped to the front door with the door keys and room number. Yet in the room a notice saying we take security seriously???? We booked a twin room but got a double bed plus a Z bed, both of which were very uncomfortable. After complaining we were moved to a twin room, again the beds left a lot to be desired and the bedding was very tatty and well past it's sell by date. The room had 6 lights bulbs only 2 of which worked!.The milk in the room was 5 months out of date, not discovered until I was drinking coffee from my flask (1lump of milk or 2) The food: breakfast the first morning, almost a Scottish breakfast, sorry we've only got beans for 1, second morning 1bacon 1sausage,1 egg and a few tinned mushrooms. The poor girl serving was so embarrassed. Sorry he only shops on Saturday! Overall I think it was the worst place I have stayed in. It's sad that the lovely girls who work there do not get the support of the owner. He needs to start managing the establishment, give it a lot of TLC, basically everything is very tired out and tatty. The potential is there for it to be a good establishment, if some serious time, effort and money is put in to it.

My room was clean and comfortable. Had a little problem with the shower, but that was resolved in moments. The showers have on-demand water heaters. The upstairs bathroom has the main power switch on the ceiling. Please check that it is switched to the 'on' position else you'll not have any water. For travelers with physical challenges, you'll need to know that there is no lift (elevator). I especially liked that the property is non-smoking. I would certainly stay here again.
