We had an absolutely fantastic holiday while staying with B+B Edinburgh!! There are so many things to love about or stay here; from the spectacular views from our room, the amazing breakfast that I miss so much, the short walk to get something to eat to the quiet walks around the back side of the building. The cab fares were... More

I managed to let my family stay comfortable dispite the expensive price. However, the location is not so well that we have to walk at least 10 minutes in a hot day from train station. It is also not near to a bus station. The room is nice but small, at least not worth that much. The tolite is nice.... More

Dear Dingyan31, thank you for taking the time to review your stay here at B+B Edinburgh. We are pleased to read that you loved the style of our B&B. Our location is quite central, with buses and tram just half a mile away. Most guests prefer to take a 10 minutes walk to the center, however our helpful staff is... More

I was very disappointed when we arrived and found we did not receive the same room I had booked on site. Had requested the family suite with King bed. We got small room with hardly any walk way at foot of pull out bed to get to bathroom. What saved the trip was the very helpful staff. They went beyond... More

Dear wander69, Thank you for your feedback on your stay. I am sorry to read that your room was different than expected. On this occasion you reserved a Family Room, which was slightly smaller than our Family Suites. Although our Family Rooms are quite spacious, on your next stay a Family Suite might be more suitable to your needs. I... More

Friendly, accomodating staff. We got a nice family room on the 4th floor with lovely wiews! Nice breakfast! Good location. Close to the town centre, but not so close that the noise from the traffic disturbes. The lift is really small (smallest in the world) so can be tricky if you have really big bags to fit everything in.. A... More

My girlfriend and I stayed here during a driving golf/distillery holiday of Scotland/Ireland in August 2015. It was our base between returning the hire car on one day and catching the train to the airport the next: we chose it as it has good access to the tram/light rail. The room itself was quite small, not a lot of room... More

Agree with other reviews. This place is a gem. Located within walking distance of castle, museums, and bustle of Royal mile but in quiet neighborhood. Romantic, Comfortable beds, nice room, great breakfast, and very helpful staff sum up to a great visit. Will definitely be back.

The B&B Club for me bridged a hotel and a B&B. This is a very large B&B—to me, it felt like a nice hotel. The rooms are a little sparse, but clean, and the bathroom was new and our room (room 3, two single beds) was large with big windows. The rooms were normal hotel rooms, and you didn’t hear... More

Our tour started and finished here. Our only real downside was that the location is in New Town, some distance from the core Old Town tourist attractions. The staff were good, the room was nice, good bed and bathroom, wifi, etc. Great breakfast, nice bar and library. Style was a mix of quaint and modern.

B&B on quiet residential street. Beautiful old building with amazing woodwork on ground floor and library level. Near Princes St. shopping and 1/2 mile to Rose St pubs and restaurants. A bit further to Royal Mile and pubs restaurants in Old Town, if your up to the walk. Rooms are equipped reasonably, and very on par with 3-4 start hotels... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
