Beds are not doubles as advertised but small doubles. The shower was dirty and there is no excuses for cleaning a shower seal or a shower hose. No parking yet they have a big empty courtyard? No coffee making facilities (no info when we checked in, and only through being nosey dos we notice a shared kitchen with kettle but... More

I spent a night in one of their apartment-style suites and it was excellent. If you're looking for a night or two stay, with the basics covered, then this is a good choice. Affordable, clean, and functional.

Stayed here for only one night as we were visiting friends in Edinburgh and it was reasonable priced for what we were looking for! You get what you pay for here! I wouldn't have liked to spend anytime in the room because it was rather small! I have stayed in similar places in Edinburgh and got far better value for... More

PRO: It was reasonably priced for a quick one or two-night stay providing the basics. Rooms/studios come w/ a simple kitchen (microwave, fridge, stove) and the showers have a very decent water pressure. Staff members were generally nice and trying to be helpful (some a bit more solution oriented than others). The location was all right. City centre is a... More

We stayed here for 2 nights. Overall we’ve got a positive feeling. Basically it’s like mini apartment with small kitchen, which makes it easy in a way because you can go to the food market, buy what you want and cook whatever you wish. Room is bigger comparing to average 3-star hotel, it has bed, wardrobe, working table, working chair,... More

We had 2x double room, it was good, but rooms were really small for two people. Only one bed in room is too small for two adult people. Rooms were clean, each had a bathroom, and there is also kitchen near rooms. Accomodation is quite around the corner from city centre (two minutes to tesco and Sainsburys, 10-15 minutes to... More

It wasn't until our day of travel that we stopped to think about parking. We drove round for a while but there were no carparks near by, so I called the hotel to ask if they could recommend anywhere to park. The person I spoke to took my booking details, and confirmed I was only staying for one night (a... More

CityLiveIn is a nice, modern hotel in a relatively quiet street (Edinburgh) Bit of a complicated way from the station to the hotel, by foot and by taxi. Reception took longer to check in than anywhere else I have stayed. 8 members of staff behind the desk! Very comfortable bed. Room temp was nice.

Clean+modern. Double mattress dipped in middle, felt springs. No hairdryer. No fire alarm contact details or location on the sign. Please ensure you check, as the building is compact and the phone did not work. You have no contact details to hand for anything. They also ask for your date of birth and passport number which I did not give.... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
