Room comfortable but dated and expensive at £95 with no inclusive breakfast. My son was also with us but there were only 2 towels so we had to ask for another one. Not a particularly nice location and there was no restaurant near by for food or drink.

Arrived after a long journey and was greeted warmly by staff, who were friendly and knowledgeable. There are no restaurants on sight but the lovely receptionist gave us a list of the nearest ones including details of Fort Kinnaird, a great complex with lots of restaurants and shops only a 5 min drive away. Room was lovely and quiet, me... More

I had booked this for 2 nights. Our son is based at the Barracks in Edinburgh and was doing a guard at the castle, so we wanted to go and see him. I read some other reviews after booking and have to say, the comments about the area being run down and boarded up made me very worried. So much... More

We had a family room here on the 02/07/2016. The room was clean, we noticed little bits had been missed and Pam (on reception) took it upon herself to sort this out and was so apologetic. The room was a decent size, and the beds were very comfy. The hotel is a bit tucked away and from the outside looks... More

Very good hotel and very helpful staff. We had good time while in Edinburgh. Hotel staff helped us out of their way. Hotel is nice with good parking space. It would be better with free wifi and continental breakfast!

While the rooms were excellent the hotel is part of a complex which is derelict with boarded up restaurants and take-away outlets. The entrance is forbidding and covered in cigarette ends. Lighting bollards lying smashed. Car park used by non-residents as a convenient place to consume take-away meals and rubbish discarded.

I wouldn't deliberately choose to spend a weekend with friends in a derelict housing estate-but this is what struck me when I arrived here, as I got out of the car I wondered if I d made a mistake-one half of the building 'tinned up' as if ready for demolition, an abundance of weeds n the car park and popping... This is the typical Travelodge, for the money rooms and service are good, However I didn't realise that this Travelodge was a service area which services trucks. My room was directly above the truck area. The surface was potholed, so every entry by a truck resulted in a series of crashes. They then park with engines running. This carries on... More
