We arrived in the afternoon to a cold room and a less than warm welcome . As we were going out we turned the radiators on before we left and came back to a cosy room . It was adequate although a bit tired . There was plenty tea , coffee etc and toiletries if needed . The small double... More

Dear, Thank you for your recent TripAdvisor review and for the specific examples you provided. I sincerely apologize for the lapses you encountered during your stay and I assure you this is not typical of a visit to The Lodge. Our records show that you checked-in early and opted to leave your vehicle with us during the following day. Unfortunately,... More

The room was okay. But the doors had automatic closures on them and so they slammed quite load if you didn't have hold of them. The bathroom was huge and very nice. The bedroom was a bit small, and the mattress was very uncomfortable and made my bank very painful and also the pillows were very lumpy. The hotel was... More

Really welcoming on arrival with my family. The family room is very spacious and the en suite is nice and the shower is powerful. Beds are really spacious and comfortable. Great location with bus stop just outside only 5 to 10 minutes into city centre and the same amount to the zoo. Edinburgh lodge is located on a fairly busy... More

We had a wonderful 5 night stay at this guest house with family. We were able to check in early on our arrival and Matia (apologies for spelling) gave us a warm welcome before taking our luggage to our rooms. We didn’t see him again but the other staff we met at reception are so warm and friendly it was... More

Stayed here for two nights. The receptionist is very friendly and helpful. I booked the room online in a hurry and was surprised to find that breakfast wasn't included. My fault I know... Still a nice place to stay.

The lodging was very comfortable, staff very helpful and friendly. Camilla was exceptional with everything, a true hospitatlity person, very enjoyable to converse with, very helpful on how to get around Edinburgh. Breakfast was good and we enjoyed our stay very much, would return if in the vacinity. Oh, loved our 3 Belgian friends we met after the Foo Fighter... More

The receptionist 'Camila' is the best thing about this hotel! very efficient attentive and helpful, however the rest of the hotel is a bit tired, considering the price the rooms are a bit 1970's. Avoid room 11 which we got, right next to boiler room and we could hear water gurgling loudly through the night. Breakfast was plentiful with attentive... More

Because The Fringe was on, the prices of hotels in the center of town were out of sight so we decided to try the Edinburgh Lodge. The staff was very nice but the hotel is in need of a face lift. We did see some construction going on so hopefully this will happen. We had a room on the first... More

Paid a premium because we went up during fringe month but I thought overall it was just average some nice touches 'wine chocolates in room' had to pay extra for breakfast even though already paid £139 for room for one night ! Place was very clean and tidy bit noisy floorboards in room above creaking all night staff helpful though... More

Initially I booked a family room but upon arrival we was told the room was occupied and we was given a standard double room for the night. This was no problem at all as the receptionist compensated us by giving us free breakfast. The family room was lovley clean and very spacious. Free Wifi was also available. The breakfast was...
