We have just had a wonderful two night stay at The Balmoral. The hotel was beautiful so clean and the team all following COVID guidelines. The Christmas tree was up in the foyer and that was so lovely to see. Our room was beautiful (418) with great views to the castle, Scott’s Monument and Princes Street. Room was spotless and had everything we need fir a relaxing weekend away (including free movies). Hotel staff were amazing. Under challenging circumstances they still remain positive and customer focused. They done ever that they could to ensure that things felt ‘normal’ for us. So friendly and polite - five stars for them alone. Spa was great and it was lovely to go swimming and have the pool to ourselves. Food was amazing and the choice of alcohol free cocktails was first class. Can’t wait to see this grand lady back bustling with customers again. We will definitely be returning.

I did not realise that the Balmoral off halal afternoon tea, I made reservations for vegetarian afternoon tea, it was only when we got there that staff offered us this choice. The sandwiches were nice, one was a bit meh but the scones made up for it. One cake was just mind blowing-seriously scrumptious! The other two were nice but no where near as amazing as the first one we tried. There was a good range of teas and tried I think 5 different ones. We were given a little gift as we left, chocolate and some black tea. This place is worth visiting for sure!!

Dear Rafathor, Thank you for sharing a review following your recent visit to Palm Court. We are delighted that you were pleased when being offered halal afternoon tea and I am glad that you were overall satisfied with your experience. Thank you also for your positive comments about our scones and cakes, although we are saddened that not every item of the afternoon tea felt as scrumptious as those. We are however glad that you had the opportunity to sample a number of our teas and we hope to see you again in the not too distant future so you can hopefully continue to work your way through our delicious tea menu! Kind regards, Richard C General Manager

We popped in to Princes bar just for some drinks, it was quiet but we both felt very relaxed and had a lovely time. The bar man who looked after us was great, very friendly and could not do enough for us (chap with beard, sorry didn’t catch his name!) can’t wait to visit again 😊

We stayed at the Balmoral for the two nights over last weekend and booked a Junior Room overlooking the castle and Princes Street. Firstly, love the room, firm bed, gorgeous bath and shower. Due to Covid restrictions we ate at the Princes brasserie in the hotel and quite impressed not only with breakfast (which in turn is amazing), but equally the dinner in the evening. Good food reasonably priced. The staff in the restaurant are very friendly and chatty, but equally fair. One of our starters was a little late so they scratched the service charge (which I added on to the next night's bill cause I didnt think it warranted that level of kindness as wasnt an issue and hardly noticeable..) Right on Princes Street overlooking the Apple shop and many other shops on that very long road. Couldnt recommend this hotel enough. Superb, and thanks from my wife and I for a very enjoyable break in trying circumstances (COVID)
