We stay a night to have a couple of days in Edinburgh. We arrived around 10am, and were able to use the car park for the whole two days, which makes things very easy as far as the car is concerned. Good sized room, massive bathroom, with a huge jacuzzi bath and great shower. Only a 15 minute walk to the centre of Edinburgh.
Just returned from Edinburgh and had to write about this hotel. We stayed in room 27 and it is amazing. I wanted a luxury hotel for a celebration but within reasonable costs and this hotel ticked every single box. This was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed, only downside is we couldn't spend enough time in the room as we had a packed agenda exploring Edinburgh. If you want an old traditional building giving you a luxury stay, then this is is. We had a huge comfortable bed, 2 bathrooms, huge living area separate to the bedroom and all mod cons to make a coffee / tea, fridge for the drinks and ability to make an easy meal if that's what you wanted. We ordered breakfast in the room one day and it arrived on time and hot and a cream tea on the 2nd day of our stay. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the main Princess Street and all other main areas. It's about a 15 minute walk from the tram stop which takes you into Edinburgh direct from the airport at £8:50 for 2 adult returns. Staff were extremely welcoming and the little honesty shop is a great initiative in case you run out of anything. I did think not having a restaurant on site would be a negative but how wrong I was. Edinburgh Residence, you have a 10 from me.…
We stayed one night in a grand suite. It was luxury, large bed with the best linens, large lounge area and seating for eating. Microwave, fridge and nespresso coffee machine. Like others we had to ask for milk….it would be much better to have this in the room ready. The biggest bathroom I’ve seen with a huge roll top bath as well as a shower, big fluffy towels, gowns and slippers. We had breakfast delivered to the room which was average and if I stayed again I would give it a miss. Easy to walk to the city and very safe
Lets start with all of the staff. Tehy were great. Extremely welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Also a shout out to the cleaners as the room and bathroom were extremely clean. We had a room at the back which was very quiet and comfortable. The room and bathroom were large with plenty of storage. Well equipped with safe, plenty of storage and also a dining table for in room dining with plenty of crockery. Even had a microvave and fridge. No milk in the room but a call to reception quickly resulted in a bottle of fresh milk being delivered to the room. Free parking at the rear of the hotel which was also a big plus. Walking distance to the city centre. All in all excellent value for money and it will be our go to accommodation whenever we are next in Edinburgh.
We booked this as part of a week long trip to celebrate a birthday using booking.com. Having stayed at two hotels on the way up with 9.2 and 9.4 ratings that were awful we were concerned with this 9.6 rated hotel as we had lost faith in the rating system. Thankfully this was magnificently better than expected. The room was fabulous with a comfortable seat to sit on as opposed to propping one self up with pillows on a bed. There was room to read a book away from the main room whilst my wife continued her slumber. The shower was lovely and after a long day sightseeing a jacuzzi bath. It was a perfect point to explore
