13 of us descended on Susan & Robert for family wedding in Edinburgh and we could not have been looked after better. The accommodation is clean, comfortable, well-appointed, the service impeccable, and the porridge . . . well a single bowl just isn't enough - it's that good! Could be habit-forming!

We stayed for two nights after being in Edinburgh for a wedding. What a fantastic find, Susan and Robert are great hosts, very friendly and welcoming. The house is beautiful , spotlessly clean and comfortable . Excellent choice for breakfast in a lovely dining room, beautiful china and decor. I really cannot fault The Town House, would certainly recommend it... More

My daughter and I had a lovely stay at this B&B in Edinburgh. We had never visited the city and did not have much of an idea where to stay. We were so fortunate to have happened upon this gem of a B&B. The service was exceptional and Susan and Robert are the reasons the Townhouse works so well. They... More

We stayed with Susan and Robert for 5 nights and were delighted. Very comfortable room, excellent breakfast, convenient location and we always felt at home. It was our first visit to Scotland and Susan and Robert were very helpful whenever we needed some local knowledge or suggestions. Highly recommended.

I was visiting Edinburgh for a conference and the Town House was very convenient for the University, and a very pleasant walk too. Susan and Robert were so helpful and kind to me, especially as I had to sample the (excellent) NHS services whilst I was there. The rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable and the atmosphere within the Town... More

My husband and I were visiting our daughter who is at Uni in Edinburgh and lives in the Marchment area. We chose The Town House to be close to her (a short and beautiful walk through the park) and also easily accessible to the city. Our hosts were both wonderful, very friendly and helpful without being intrusive (our daughter was... More

After a 7 hour drive, parking 5 minutes away we received no help with the bags. We got a barrage of information from Roger without even being able to sign in or see our room. Sarcastic comments about not being able to take in information followed. I have a cognitive problem and he was insulting, it wasn’t a good start.... More

Great hospitality, wonderful room, nice breakfast and a quiet location. The ideal location to relax after a touring the city of Edinburgh and well worth to stay more than 3 nights.Train, bus and tram station Haymarket is only 10 Minutes to walk away.

We stayed two nights in two rooms at the Town House in Edinburgh, Scotland on our recent trip to the U.K. We had two rooms that were well appointed and comfortable. Susan Virtue, the proprietor, greeted us warmly and showed us to our rooms and explained how the shower functioned and answered other questions for us. Breakfast was in the... More
