The Ardenlee Guest House is located in a very quiet and safe part of Edinburgh/New Town, 10 minutes from the Princes Street (all bus connections) in an area full of galeries and antique shops. Across the street there are two nice diners, down the street there is a cosy sports-pub Smithies and around the corner on the main street there... More

We enjoyed our stay at Ardenlee Guest House. The staff were very friendly, the breakfast (as well as the room it was served in) was very good and we were happy with the location in a quiet street in Edinburgh's New Town and close to several good restaurants/cafés. The room itself (room no. 2) was OK - it served our... More

Location was convenient for travel to and from the train station. Room confirmed during booking was not provided. This was a nasty surprise from a guest house having a three star rating. So credibility went for a toss straightaway. The room allotted was badly designed and bathroom cum toilet was too small even for a person with moderate build. The bathroom was... More

Stayed for 4 nights with my girlfriend. Upgraded to a double room on arrival which was great, besh was comfortable although very noisy, breakfast was also good. Staff were very friendly, couldn't do enough for us. Only problem was we couldn't connect to the WiFi from our room. Would definately stay here again.

We had a great stay in the triple room, it was quiet, clean and tidy, shower was hot and there were some nice biscuits and drink sachets. The owners were lovely and couldn't do enough for us, breakfast was really nice lots of choice from cereal to full English. The Guest House was around a 20 minute walk from the... More

Nice, quiet part of town and just a 10 minute walk to the city centre. Large rooms, especially high ceilings but we found the shower's water pressure to be terribly low. Great breakfast, nice people. Definitely recommend.

Stayed here for two nights (room 4 twin room) while visiting the city to watch the rugby. For the price and for such a busy weekend, couldn't have asked for more. Not to far away from the main hustle and bustle but just far enough away if you want to appreciate some quiet time. Although the decoration is a little... More

A Scottish friend had recommended the Eyre Guest house, as he lives in the vicinity. We had some initial difficulty in reaching the Eyre Guest House to book the place because the telephone number on the website did not work. I had to book it through Priceline.com. So we initially booked a room at the Eyre Guest house and found... More

I should have read more reviews and found out about the dreaded Room 8 before booking the single room. I didn't but it's good that you are. The room is very small, the single bed bows in the middle and the pillow was two old and flat pillows stuffed into one pillow case. I know it's a room for £30... More

Hi, I'd just like to say room 8 is fine. I'm a single person visiting Edinburgh for the wkend. The room has tea/coffee facilities, tv & a very comfy bed. Enough hanging space available for a person on their own. It's about 15min walk back down to princes street. Plenty of breakfast on offer - cereal, toast & spreads, juices... More
