The rooms was clean and relatively well laid out. The mattress on the bed was old and had been slept on by a lot of people. I know this as it dipped at the edges and I almost fell out at one stage during the night as you were rolled out due to the dip. The electric shower kept losing... More

Spent two nights here. Truly loved the place, I was lucky with big room with a window. Staff is very welcoming and helpful even before I arrive by emails. Breakfast is pretty delicious 😋. Beds are truly comfortable. Location is close to city centre and busses few meters away takes you to many places as far as ocean terminal

My son and I spent two nights here; we were well-received and well-looked after by Lynne and Cathy. The bedrooms are quiet, nicely decorated and comfortable ...although the bathroom is cramped (my only criticism). While there is not a large choice of breakfasts, it must be said that what we had was very good - either fresh fruit & yoghurt... More

We had a great time staying at the Amaryllis Guest House and the people there were very nice to us. We had a great breakfast there and our room was very pleasant. We would gladly stay there again the next time we are in Edinburgh!

Our room was small and the tv a little below par but the service and cleanliness and attitude of the staff exceptional. We were scheduled for departure before breakfast for a tour and a sack of sandwiches and fruit was ready when we left in the wee hours. This was offered - we did not have to ask for it.... More

The guest house was clean and the house is pretty. The breakfast was only available between 8.30 and 9.15. Also you have to choose the night before what you want and you only have one of five options. So if you would like to start with some fruit and then have an egg, that's not an option. The entrance hall... More

This Guest House was a lovely, superb place to stay. We had the family room and the place was lovely and Clean. The service was good and polite. Location not too far from Edinburgh centre - you can walk (20 minutes). You order breakfast the night before and it was served in the morning. We stopped 2 nights and I... More

This time we stayed three nights at the Amaryllis in October. We had the family-room for the four of us. The beds were great and the room was big. The only downside were the really small washbasin and the small space for the toilet. The Landlady was extremely friendly and made a superb scottish breakfast. So it was definitely worth... More

We had five nights at Amaryllis. Appreciated Stella's help in organising Grey Line tours for us. The room was quite adequate, although the en suite was tiny. Breakfasts tasty, Thoroughly enjoyed our time in Edinburgh, and part of this satisfaction was due to Stella's friendliness as much as the attractive location and the scenic spots.
