About
Description
24 Royal Terrace is a new hotel on one of Edinburgh’s most iconic Georgian terraces. Designed by the famous architect William Playfair in the 1820s, the 16-bedroom hotel retains the original architectural More features of the building whilst introducing a bold contemporary interior design. Situated in close proximity to the town centre, the hotel backs onto the Royal Gardens of Holyrood Palace and Calton Hill with commanding views across to the Firth of Forth. All rooms offer beautiful views, either of the hotel’s garden or onto the majestic Royal Terrace itself. Suited to both business and leisure guests, the rooms vary from spacious apartment suites to affordable single rooms. Our elegant rooms are designed for comfort and relaxation with stylish contemporary fabrics, heavenly beds, White Company toiletries, plump white towels and Egyptian cotton sheets. Mixing the old with the new, the suites comprise antique furniture with modern touches. Some rooms feature cast iron baths in the bedroom, whilst others have rain showers in the bathroom. All bedrooms offer wireless and wired internet connection to ensure guests can tap into our high speed internet, have Samsung Smart TVs fitted with amplified Soundbars and Apple Airport Express, enabling guests to stream audio and video from their own devices or from their NetFlix accounts, plus USB power sockets for charging devices. The entertainment isn’t limited to the bedroom; in the en-suite bathrooms, guests can control their music from a keypad to play over high quality Blucube speakers. The hotel features a private, original art collection including works by Scottish artists John Bellany, Peter Howson, Steven Campbell, Henry Kondracki and John Bratby. 24 Royal Terrace’s facilities include rt’s bar, a stylish meeting point for guests serving a carefully selected menu, from Scottish and continental breakfast in the morning, to rt's menu in the evening. rt’s serves a fine range of whiskies, playing to Royal Terrace’s historical nickname, ‘Whisky Row’, a reference to the number of spirit merchants who lived on the terrace when it was newly built. Lying where grandiose New Town townhouses give way to

Dear Reviewer, Thank you for your excellent feedback. It is great to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. Indeed the building was constructed between 1823 and 1830, we are very lucky to work in such an amazing piece of history. The art is certainly intended to stimulate conversation, whether you are for or against, and it sounds like it did in your case! We are glad that you enjoyed your breakfast, and we hope to see you again in the near future. Have a lovely Christmas and a happy New Year, Jonathan M

This is a superb boutique hotel, that oozes class. The attention to detail is what sets it apart from its competitors. Everything from a SMEG fridge in the room, to little milk bottles complete with foil tops with your tea at breakfast. Our room was stunning and elegant with a to

My wife and I have stayed here several times now, the hotel is lovely with old fashioned levels of service. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the area is quiet. I would definitely recommend the breakfasts. Staff are very responsive to requests. When accidentally left

Can you get room service?
Yes, but it is limited during certain hours. They do have a very nice lounge / restaurant. I'm sure their website would provide the details regarding room service.

Thanks for prompt reply to my earlier inquiry about parking. The nearby QPark looks quite adequate. I have concerns about trek to top floor. What type rooms are available on each of the lower floors. Regards ... Mike Hickey
I'm pretty fit but although top floor room was beautiful with great views it t was too many stairs for me . Bearing in mind I go up and down to room alot it was too far up as there is another little staircase after the main stairs . They were lovely and loved me to room on 1 floor down which wasn't as Ng but still lovely
