Just back from a long weekend in Edinburgh where we stayed in the Eton room of Clarendon Luxury apartments. Owner Billy is fantastic, he kept in touch before we arrived, warmly greeted us and gave us great tips on where to go and what to see. The room was gorgeous and clean with modern decor, also supplies of milk, tea,... More

We stayed the weekend of 25 November. Very central location, just 10 minutes from Princes street. Accommodation is of a very high standard, in a quiet residential location . Beautiful old building but totally modernised. Ideal for a small family not wanting to stay in a hotel. We will definitely be back.

I recommend this place highly - perfect alternative to a hotel in Edinburgh. Classy, clean and convenient location. Tea, coffee and other bits and pieces provided. Don't forget to bring your own toiletries. Great view from Eton Apartment towards the Forth and I appreciated the exercise reaching it on the second floor! Bumped into Rebecca, the owners' daughter, who was... More

We stayed a few nights while visiting Edinburgh - the apartment is spacious and clean and the wifi connection good. Much as you could get from an Air BnB. But there is no service. It is run by (I presume) the owner who meets you at the door. There is no service desk; no amenities (just a cake of soap... More

Simply does not get any better than this. I am in the travel industry, travel internationally every month, and this is perhaps the best all around experience I've had in years. Location - close to everything, yet still peaceful and quiet. Apartment, impeccable. Billy is a true gent. I needed help w/ a personal issue and though he was busy... More

I would highly recommend this set of five individual apartments to anyone. I went with my wife and 5 month old baby and it was ideal, having loads of space to put all our bits and pieces. The facilities were very good with a modern kitchenette with pots, pans, utensils and all the other little things you would need to... More

Beautiful townhouse building with chic contemporary design and immaculately clean! We stayed in the Learmonth apartment on the top floor which was bigger than your average London flat... Big spacious rooms, all the comforts and amenities of home and great views out over the city to the forth. Lots of nice little touches like breakfast, tea & coffee, dishwasher tabs... More

Second time at 10 Clarendon. Hospitable, clean, modern amenities just over the Dean Bridge from New Town attractions, 15 min. walk (maximum) to Princes St. and access to Old Town, 1/2 walk to Waverley or Haymarket train stations. Good bus connections, too, right outside the door or up the street, including Airport Tram stop. Away from hurly-burly but easy stroll... More

Staying in Stockbridge & Dean Village

Neighborhood Profile
Stockbridge & Dean Village
Just downhill of New Town and attractively straddling a river near the elegant Royal Botanic Garden, it’s small wonder that Stockbridge became one of the city’s first hip neighborhoods. It’s now one of Edinburgh’s most desirable, though many bohemian touches have fallen away as its residents have matured and the area has gentrified. Some second-hand shops cling on, but mostly residents display refined tastes in basement bistros, gastropubs, coffee and antique shops, boutiques and delis and at the Sunday farmers' market. A pleasant ten-minute walk away, along a leafy riverside path beside the gurgling Water of Leith, lies Dean Village. This sleepy neighborhood of medieval half-timbered houses still retains much of the village feel it had when watermills plied their trade here. Beyond, the wooded riverside path feels even more remote as it climbs to the sculpture gardens of the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art.
