Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We were also surprised to hear we were able to get a free breakfast during our stay! We stayed in a king room which was very spacious with a large bed. I would say the rooms are definitely in need of updating, the carpet needs replacing but the place is clean and I didn’t feel uncomfortable. For the price and the friendly staff, I would stay again.

I stayed at the Edinburgh Grosvenor Hotel in room 362, in the Town House from the 10th to the 12th December 2021. Upon entering the townhouse we were definitely underwhelmed with the welcome and the general state of the building. We went to our room and were even more disappointed. While the furniture was the same as pictured on the website, the overall room certainly wasn’t. It had a very stained carpet, horrible yellow low lit lighting, dust everywhere and I found hair in the bathroom. See pictures attached. I was very disappointed as the hotel is rated highly and looks lovely on the site. I thought I could over look this if we had a good nights sleep. However, the bed felt like a piece of wood with a thin topper on and it creaked loudly with every tiny movement, we both had two bad nights sleep which to be honest really put a downer on our first trip to Edinburgh. Upon checking out, we weren’t asked how our stay was or actually spoken to all apart from answering no, when I said, do we need to do anything else to check out. I have sent an email to the hotel to speak about this privately, but I didn’t receive a reply.

Arrived in Edinburgh on British airways from London at 0920. Found our booked hotel was not available due to new Covid restrictions .So contacted Grosvenor Hotel where my family were staying .They gave us a room .Location just where we wanted ,close to city .Reception staff were very helpful and gave us a second floor room . Room was large and good bathroom spect but no coffee facilities were offered . Breakfast the next morning was very good and the stay was enjoyable .This is a large hotel with plenty of space.

Hotel staff very good all friendly, from check in to check out 2 course evening meal option worth taking and breakfast high quality all covid safe. Rooms could do with a update which l believe is on the cards, although still tidy enough and hotel also has quite large rooms. We would stay again it dies offer good value and the street is quite yet a stone's throw from main area.

Me and my partner stayed here the first weekend of December to see the markets. We stayed before in August this year, but this time was just not the same. We arrived around 4pm and our room was still not ready, therefor we had to sit in the bar and wait for about 40 minutes until my partner had to go up and ask again as we where eager to get sorted and go out and see the sights. Eventually we got our keys to a very unclean room. Bedside tables, dressing table, lamps, tissue box and other surfaces caked in dust. The duvets where paper thin also. My partner has severe athesma so this was not ideal for him to sleep in. We where very unhappy considering we had a lovely stay in August and thats why we booked again. :(

Dear Cherylm94xxxx Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. I am sorry that it was not as enjoyable as your experience in August - we had some staffing challenges with our brand new housekeeping team at the weekend. I hope that you will give us another chance in the future as you have stated you had a lovely stay in the summer. Kind Regards, Brian
