Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.

I spent one night in room 406. The room is quite large (double), en-suite and the mattress was comfortable and no noise from outside. The bathroom was working well. The carpet in the bedroom looked old and a bit dirty, needs to be replaced. The breakfast was very good with a lot

The room and bathroom were very small, the smallest hotel room ive ever stayed in but was in a great location. The beds were tiny single beds, but comfortable. There was a tv, hairdryer and kettle. Very basic toiletries, bottle of hair and body wash stuck to the wall. Decorated

Very friendly staff who are very accommodating, especially the guy at reception (I think he's the manager?) Basic but comfortable, clean room with good views (sixth floor). Breakfast is good too, good selection of food and good coffee. Would recommend! Thanks for a great stay.

Amazing value for money. Lovely friendly staff. Location couldn't be better, right in the heart of the Royal mile. Room clean and comfortable. Breakfast is ok (full buffet breakfast- bacon, sausages, scrambled or boiled eggs, etc.) but loads of nearby cafes, bars etc., means

Hi. We didn’t drive, we took the train instead. I think it’ll be quite difficult to park there however I would suggest to send a message to the hotel and ask. On Booking it says that parking it’s possible at a location nearby so the hotel should be able to advise. Hope this helps. Have a great journey.

What size are the rooms
We had room 402 and would say it would of fitted a standard double and a single bed comfortable with space to walk between beds. If you have stayed in a preiumer Inn it's pretty comparable to all the Premier Inn rooms I have had in the past. I have had a room at the back of this hotel and it was smaller in size. just one double and was cosy.

Dear karen3027 We do have a Pizza and Salad Menu available 24/7 if you fancy a little snack, other than that we are surrounded by lovely restaurants -Royal Mile and South Bridge have a huge variety of food along the way, we also have our sister Hotel only around the corner which does have a restaurant (Ibis Edinburgh South Bridge) roughly a 2 minute walk. Hope this response has answered your question, Thanks for contacting Ibis Hunter Square. Olaya Reception Team Member
