Sleep quality goes to the top of the list - amazing bed, so comfortable. We had the best sleep on it in our 2 weeks in Scotland. The room was nice and quiet. The designer toiletries "This Works" and the Pillow Spray for a good night's sleep all helped towards a great night's rest.

Fantastic modern Hotel on the inside and old classic architecture on the outside. Great large room with very comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Large plasma TV and great WIFI. The location on the Royal Mile was perfect for just walking around or jumping on the Hop-on Hop-off tours. Plenty of options for shopping or dining near by. We stayed there... More

The breakfasts were excellent. Besides the usual breakfast buffet, special orders are available. Even though my Eggs Benedict arrived without the eggs the order was quickly corrected ! The location is perfect for sightseeing and shopping.

Stayed from 15th August for 3 full days and nights. Cannot speak highly enough about the staff in the Restaurant and also at breakfast. They were extremely pleasant and always had time to have a chat with you and ensure your stay was of a high standard, nothing was too much trouble for them. Room was good( 535 ), clean,... More

We booked the Radisson Blu well in advance for the fringe, so we had done quite a bit of research on Tripadvisor. The hotel is in a perfect position for the fringe. Right on the Royal Mile. We had requested a nice quiet room and we were on the fourth floor. The rooms are well equipped with everything you need.... More

I have stayed here quite a few times and really can't fault it. The location is utterly perfect for everything. Breakfast is great and staff are very friendly and professional. Drinks prices are steep but the pub opposite is first class and well worth a visit. The 'but' is this: for a stunning location steeped in such wonderful history and... More

We were on the 3rd floor. Minor problem with the plumbing was quickly fixed and the apology received was accompanied by the most delicious cupcakes we have ever tasted. This hotel is in a wonderful location and the staff were welcoming and pleasant throughout our stay. The room was quiet despite overlooking a busy, central road. We enjoyed every second... More

This hotel is fantastic! Very clean and located right in the heart of the royal mile. During August it is right next to the Fringe which is a huge bonus. I would recommend this hotel and will look forward to coming back in the future.

Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
