The hotel was very close to town centre, Scottish parliament. excellent value for money. Service very good ! Very reasonable breakfast at decent price. I have only good words! Will go back when visiting Edinburgh next.

This hotel is in a great location and you can walk anywhere in the old and new town. The rooms are so clean and comfortable and this hotel had one of the best included breakfasts that we've come across! The only problem is you have to pay £3 a day for wifi but it is unlimited GB and works well...

I normally only stay in refurbed Travelodges due to previous issues with standards but this was booked by work so did not have an option! Check in was a pain as the 3 nights had been booked on 2 different bookings meaning we had to check out the next day and check back in before we left for meetings. Not...

An excellent choice to stay in the city centre, everything you need and all very clean and well presented. Fabulous staff with everyone that I spoke with being genuinely friendly and interested in providing good service, especially Donald, Alison, Chris and Emma. Well done on a very good service, I look forward to returning.

It's a very untidy hotel run by scruffy children The food was disgusting lasagne for example was a ready meal heated up not even hot and no meat in for £8.95 The beds you can feel the springs in the mattress and the pillows are as hard as breeze blocks Would never stay again

I had a very bad experience in this Travelodge (Scotland) hotel. The soap dispenser in the bathroom was broken and it was filled with water. I have had a very pleasant experience in Widnes Travelodge hotel because of which I booked this hotel. But I would strongly recommend not to choose this hotel.

Had a two night stay whilst visiting my son. The bed was extremely comfortable and clean. I had a room on the top floor which was really quiet, the lifts only went to the 4th floor so you might struggle with cases if you are not very fit but the climb was well worth it for the peace and quiet.

Really lovely staff made us and our dog feel welcome and made a massive fuss of our dog who's just gotten over an operation. Brilliant position for visiting all the tourist bits of old town. Hotel on a busy road but not loads of noise .

Got a fair price for B&B but the appearance and the quality of the food was poor. I ate in for dinner & wish i hadn't. Bfast i was down 10 min after service started & eggs looked dry and hard. The fruit salad looked like it was at the end of a 5 day run with mainly apple slices...

Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
