Stayed recently with my family in this hotel twice, initially for 2 nights & then subsequently for 4 nights. Conveniently located in the center of the old town. All the staff members were attentive & extremely helpful. The staff has all the information about Edinburgh that a tourist needs to know. It has a unique feature of enabling hotel guests... More

The location of this hotel is just off the Royal Mile, ideally situated for the old town. southside and bus routes. It has a bar/restaurant and car parking (not cheap!). The room standards are as good as Travelodge's usual.

We needed a room in central Edinburgh and picked this one. Nice rooms, basic bathrooms - helpful staff. Breakfast was good and worth considering with a nice selection on offer. One big tip - don't park in the Hotels car park - it's tiny and you will be lucky to get a spot. Instead use the NCP St. John Hill... More

We stayed at Waterloo Place overnight to visit the Tattoo and Fringe Festival. Although we arrived early, the staff were happy to store our bags for a donation to 'Macmillan', which we thought was a great idea (Edinburgh Station wanted to charge £12 per bag!!!). We were, at first, a little alarmed by the 'minus 2 floor' but quickly realised... More

The hotel is just a few Minutes away from the Royal Mile. It is a nice place to stay the reception is very kind and it his there for the client. The breakfast is enough for everyone and you will get what ever you want.

Good location, but annoyed at having to pay £17 for 24 hours parking, I wouldn't of booked to stay here had I known this, hotel was clean tidy and staff were great, breakfast was good with plenty to eat

I stayed here with my family. A comfortable, friendly establishment. We have used this hotel for years, as it's so convenient for the fringe entertainment on the High Street and allows us to nip back to freshen up and drop of items collected during the day. It's always consistently of a standard expected of a Travelodge.

Clean and comfortable, adequate bar facilities, good location but traffic noise was bad throughout the night. Didn't eat breakfast there as food very poor on our last stay with Travellers a month ago. There are several local Dave's to get breakfast.

Visited for the Fringe Festival. Great Central location easy to get around the city centre. Room clean and fine for a few days. Reception staff really helpful, printed my boarding passes for flights for me. Would stay again

An excellent venue for visiting Edinburgh, well maintained rooms with friendly staff. Good value for money and very clean rooms. Beds are very comfortable with limited car parking to the rear of Travelodge.

Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
