We visited Edinburgh for a few days to get away...the hotel looked lovely on the internet and was conveniently located to all the attractions we wanted to see, and for a reasonable price which was why we booked it for our 3 night stay. The hotel staff were friendly, our room was a comfortable size, the decor was a bit...

Very good value, very clean and comfortable room, modern decor, well appointed bathroom and with free WIFI. Very close to Railway station which was convenient and not noisy. Good views over city centre.

We were staying in Edinburgh for a family wedding and Jurys was close to the venue. We booked online and the rooms looked really lovely. We were really looking forward to our stay. But we were extremely disappointed with the overall look of the hotel and the reception area! The reception staff were very helpful and friendly and did their...

Very poor value for money - the only saving grace for this hotel is the location but don't get excited about the views, or the rooms. The whole hotel needs a revamp and the rooms and bathroom need to be updated

Nice hotel and friendly staff. Ideal location for sight seeing. Clean and tidy throughout. Happy to replenish tea and coffee making facilities when asked. I know the Scots like their iron bru but I thought asking £2.10 for a can of it at the hotel bar was a bit much.

Stayed at jury's a few times before and could not have faulted it until this time. Duvet had a wet patch on it and when we left the room were lucky to meet a staff member in corridor, she came into room and was really angry that this had been left like this. Also staff are needing more training on cleaning...

Average hotel. Nothing special. Rooms old and dated. Bathroom and shower small and poorly maintained from an aesthetic point of view. Stayed in bed only basis. We ate out all weekend so can't comment on food or bar service.

Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
