To be honest, myself and a couple of colleagues stayed here after being told how good it had been for someone a few months earlier. To be fair, it was ok - just not up to the standard of previous Jury's hotels i have stayed in. The room i stayed in was tired, the decor scuffed, the carpetting all ruffled,...

Great location for all the sights and amenities of Edinburgh, friendly staff and a good breakfast experience, Liked the fact that you could leave luggage at reception no matter what time you arrive, and upon leaving can also leave luggage until your ready to continue shopping or waiting for train.

Location of the hotel is good if your looking to investigate the old town, short walk to Princes street (although the pathways are a bit bumpy so not so good for the older generations). Near Waverly station and a short walk to either the tram or Express Airport bus. (£4.50 for a one way ticket) Check in was quick however...

Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
