I had a family meal to attend in Edinburgh so booked myself a one night solo stay at the Jury’s. I was lucky enough to get one of their newly refurbished rooms (mine was 7th floor which I was told was the first floor finished). Great look - having stayed here before it was definitely an improvement. Comfy king size bed and everything was freshly painted and decorated. The staff were great I had Soufiane at reception who was in the middle of being trained and he couldn’t have been more helpful. Will definitely be back to stay next time I’m down.

Me and my wife stayed here for our wedding anniversary from 7/6/2021 to 9/6/2021. Checkin was brilliant and the young girl was chatty and friendly. We managed to get upgraded to room 606 which was recently upgraded. The room was very clean and well decorated. Bed and pillows were great and we both got a great sleep every night. Breakfast was brought up to our room each morning and the quality of the products was really good. Check out was quick and hassle free. Will definitely be staying in the jury’s inn again when we next visit Edinburgh.

Cut to the chase: this was not a good experience and I would not recommend staying here. +: location, literally less than 5 mins to the station and the rest of the city was easily walkable which was nice. The lady checking in me was really friendly and helpful. They stored luggage for me post checkout and also allowed me to check in early despite arriving a lot earlier than the checkin time which was nice (I was planning to leave my bags in store and then checkin later). -: The room was dreary, old and untidy. The room was very very poorly cleaned and I complained about this and nothing was done. There was hair on the bathroom floor and in the shower drain, the sink was shoddy and underneath the bath there were several cracks, the shelf to put your stuff on felt like it could break any minute. There are no plugs next to the bedside - means you cant have your phone etc next to you, but more importantly if you have anything needed for sleep machines etc you couldnt do anything about that. There was a lot of noise for one of the nights and when I called reception a staff member came up and then did nothing, which really irritated me as was very late and I was getting up early the next day. The staff apart from the lady checking me (and the bar staff) were unwelcoming and didn't create that friendly feeling. Upon check out the guy said they were refurbing the place soon, but didn't apologise for the bad experience despite the complaints through out the stay and the poor quality of the room. Once again this was a poor experience and would not recommend.

So I stayed at the jurys inn overnight through a wowcher deal so on a value for money aspect that was ticked off pretty much before we arrived. So the Positives. The location is fantastic less than 5 minutes from Edinburgh Waverly for all transport links. 5-10 minutes from princess street depending on how quickly you walk. 5 minutes onto the royal mile So this hotel is perfectly located to see all edinburgh has to offer. As covid resrictions are in place i can say the hotel was upto a night standard following these. We had a bagged breakfast with hot roll option. It was good considering covid resrictions meant no normal breakfast serivice. The room we had for a city hotel was a good size. The Staff in the hotel were so helpful and friendly. The negtives The hotel rooms are old (i think a refurb is planned) and it needs it some marks in the carpet some cracks in the bathroom. Water stains on the bathroom door. However everything was clean. Just old and in need of a refurb. Pretty noisy between the rooms nothing we had too much problem with as we early risers but room doors banging and shouting from half 5. The only downside of the bagged breakfast as that other than a choice of which hot roll you have no choice in other items which can be limiting if you dislike items. But as this was included in our price we didnot feel any problem with this. If we had paid for it then that would perhaps be different. Over all very nice place for 1 night stay would recommed We didnt try the bar or resturant so cannot review these.

The staff were friendly at reception but over all I was really disappointed. We came for my 30th birthday, our local Jury’s in is a very nice hotel. This Jury’s is very old and dated. Our room windows were filthy and looked out on to what looked like waste land and a boiler. The grout in room was discoloured, rusty taps, yellow bath, cracks and holes in walls. I was really disappointed as we paid £130 per night so o feel we could have booked somewhere a lot nicer for the same price if less. The area on a night I felt quite unsafe, I could hear a lot of noise and what sounded like fighting during the night. Would not recommend or book again.
