Nice rooms, staff was friendly and helpful, walking distance to many attractions. I did find the parking entrance difficult to find but it was fine once I did. Bottles of water in the room. The spa was refreshing and clean. Pool was inside and warm, we took a dip in it after sightseeing all day.

First time staying at this hotel and I'm impressed, we got a really early check in because of our early train arrival. Reception girl was really pleasant and there was a nice touch of free delicious shortbread on arrival. Our room was very nice and modern but unfortunately we had no view of the castle. The spa was really good...

Staff are friendly and very helpful. Rooms are bright and clean. Bathrooms are enclosed in glass and are spotlessly clean. Ideally situated in central Edinburgh- great for site seeing. Leisure facilities are of a high standard but you need to book to access some of them.

We stayed here for a one night luxury treat. We were not disappointed. The rooms are a good size, well equipped and spotlessly clean with Air con which could be useful in the summer. The bar is busy and has a good range of beers, spirits. The food in the restaurant although not cheap was of high quality and the...

98% satisfied. Room beautiful and love the different lighting scenes until you need to pee in the night. Laughed at not being able to control the Lighting! A simple on off was what I needed but it more resembled a disco in our room. 😂 I did write our names in the dust on the mirror 🙄. Also the bath...

Located in central Edinburgh this Sheraton Grand is within walking distance to the Castle, university and the Royal Mile. The grand entrance to the hotel is modern along with many smaller rooms for drinks and socializing. The hotel room is quite spacious and the bed is supremely comfortable along with decent work space. The bathrooms are beautifully designed with a...

Reception was very impressive when we entered. We managed to check in early and luckily a room was available for us to put our bags. The receptionist was very friendly and explained where everything was and gave us 2 free drinks tokens to have in the bar to have later on. We had booked a club king room with spa...

Booked for 1 night stay in Edinburgh before heading down to Fyfe for our nephew's wedding. We arrived 7am in the morning from Australia and had booked into a Club View room ( view of Edinburgh castle), pricey but well worth it ! We were checked in by a very friendly receptionist Pik Wa, gave us a lot of information...

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
