We were fortunate to stay in the Park Apartment for the month of August. Everything written by previous guests is true. Pilrig House is a wonderful place to stay and Philip and Debbie are amazing and are there to make a stay pleasurable. August is the month of Tattoo, International Festival, Fringe, Book Festival which makes it easy to do... More

Rooms were great. Lots of amenities provided, We especially liked the whisky decanter and fresh fruit left. I needed to get scotch for a friend back home, Philip gave us plenty of information on the Whisky Society, and let us use their membership. Bussing to Edinburgh from here is a peach, there are so many bus options within a 2-5... More

My husband and I stayed in the Garden Apartment at the Pilrig House for two weeks at the end of July and the beginning of August. The apartment was so spacious, modern and spotlessly clean, supplied with everything one could possibly need or want. Debbie and Philip are wonderful hosts - very knowledgeable about the area/attractions & transportation. It is... More

We stayed 7 night in the Garden Apartment at Pilrig House in May. It was lovely and so peaceful and quiet after our previous busy two weeks travelling in London and Edinburgh area. We found this historical home (Robert Louis Stevenson family - built in 1638) on the website and it was exactly as shown. The apartment was so spacious,... More

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at Pilrig House. It has been and is an absolutely perfect place! Hosts Philip and Debbie always go 110 % for there guests. They also were so helpful in helping us with the sites we wanted to see. They put us on to Mike Mckinlay of Capital Tours who... More

We were able to stay at Pilrig house for a few nights and had a wonderful and peaceful time. Phillip gave us more than enough information to get the lay of the land and we loved our time exploring Edinburgh. The room had everything we needed and is convenient to grab a cab and get to anywhere we needed to... More

We did our research and found this gem on our own. What a stroke of luck. The House is an historical site built in 1638 and has ties to the Balfour's and Robert Louis Balfour Stevenson (author of Treasure Island and Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde). Our Scottish hosts Debbie and Philip could not have been more gracious and accommodating.... More

Debbie and Philip are wonderful. This property certainly sets a high standard for other apartments. We have just finished a weeks stay there. The location is great ,close to lots of amenities and public transport. Regarding the amenities I agree with the previous posters. I would recommend this place to anyone for Edinburgh. Thank you Debbie and Phillip for making... More

Having read all the reviews concerning Pilrig House we couldn't wait to arrive for our two week holiday, and we were certainly not disappointed! We stayed in the Garden Apartment which was absolutely beautiful - had everything we needed at top quality standard and maintained to perfection. The owners, Debbie and Philip, were so welcoming and informative - nothing was... More

Travelled to Scotland in August 2015. Stayed at Pilrig House for a week and enjoyed every minute. The Garden apartment was exactly as advertised. It was beautiful, very clean, well appointed, and very quiet. I really didn't want to leave. Debbie was an exceptional host. She made every effort to make certain that I was comfortable and settled, and even... More
