Was met by a very warm reception by the staff, they were busy as the place was jumping due to the Sir Rod Stewart concert, the atmosphere was fantastic everyone was having a great time, Our room was the family room it was spacious bright and spotless with fresh clean white bedding, our beds were very comfortable and both got... Visited the bar for food. Lovely, can't fault it. we visited 2 or 3 times and didn't disappoint. Had different baguette fillings and all were nice. Has been recently refurbished, clean and modern, not what I remembered it to be.

I stayed here as basically, I just wanted an inexpensive place to crash for the night whilst visiting Kilmarnock. The credit card machine was broken, so I was required to pay in cash. The room was freezing (admittedly it was very cold outside as well). The half inch gap at the bottom of the door which allowed the draught in... More

I don't really think of the Portman as a hotel (just a pub with a function suite) and wouldn't consider actually staying here but for a cheap pub lunch in a beer garden with a playpark on a sunny day, it's ideal. The food is decent pub grub. I had a sweet chili chicken wrap that came with chips &... More

I stayed here on a Saturday.night for quite cheap. Think of it as a hostel next to a disco and you'll be pleased. I stayed in room 1 & it's apparently been redecorated since previous reviews, but very simply in Ikea. Dont know how long it will last. Clean, but stains here and there. Absolutely enormous en suite bath. Great... More

I would describe the Portmann as a pub first, and a hotel as an after thought. Everyone that worked there was very nice. Our room was clean, and after the pub closed down at 11pm it was very quiet. We were served a nice light breakfast of coffee, fruit, yogurt and toast. We were able to drive to the Prestwick... More

We visited here on Tuesday for a lunch and it was decent. They do buy one get one free at lunch time and have 6 or 7 main courses to choose from as well as burgers and baked potatoes. They are all priced at under £6 so its basically £3 and throw in a juice for £1.20 and you can't... More

This hotel is the very worst hotel (if you can call it that) I have ever been to. A friend (who is not going to be after this horrible experience) booked this for me as I was visiting him on a business trip. This very poor excuse for a hotel is dirty and there was not even a working TV... More
