We went for our anniversary , very warm welcome when we arrived it was after 6 pm when we arrived but thought we would get something to eat at the chip shop as we had not booked a meal for when we arrived. We went for a drink in the hotel bar and met some lovely people both local and... More

Nice little town, great roads for miles around (for bikers). The room was great, the food was superb (Piri Piri chicken awesome!) and then there was the owner... My brother and I were on the last night of our tour of Scotland on our motorbikes and we met Dave the owner.. so welcoming and friendly. Not only did he suggest... More

Visited just for food and a drink. Lovely friendly staff although 1 waitress in particular was run off her feet. The food was quite nice they do food that's a bit different so nice to try something new. Would recommend trying as a place to eat. I had the crab and lobster burger as a main then tiramisu both lovely.

A family run hotel where you are assured of a warm welcome and the owner (Dave ) and staff go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your stay. This hotel is biker -friendly with mini garages for ones machine. Excellent food and comfy beds; I've already booked for next year.

Didnt realise places like this still exist, especially when we had had some great meals already in Moffat!! Totally basic Sunday Carvery, hardly worn, dry and water like gravy served in a very tired hotel. Knew we had made a mistake when shown upstairs and the carpet was threadbare!!!! AVOID

Thank you Sara1958 for taking the time to make a review ... I have got to admit to being completely dumbfounded by your very negative comments. Our Carvery is relatively new and we continue to get bombarded with positive comments, reports and reviews. I must admit to also being somewhat confused about a carvery being called totally basic, as a... More

Good points - friendly staff, decent breakfast and a really comfy bed. Bad points - the evening meal but I've reviewed that elsewhere. Ugly - the room was dingy, small and damp stained. Okay as an overnight stop.

Dear mick_hunter, I am so sorry you have not had a great experience at our hotel. Yes, our rooms are small and unfortunately that goes with the turf of a listed building from 1760. However, we ensure that they are very very clean and tidy ... and fortunately the rooms are not as small as equivalent hotels. We have looked... More

My husband and daughter and I are just back from a one night break at Baccleuch Arms and would definitely recommend to anyone considering visiting the hotel. The rooms are of a good standard with tea and coffee making facilities. Our TV didn't work but that wasn't really a problem for us. We had a room where out dog could... More

Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable, quiet room and terrific breakfast. Great facilities if you are a biker or cyclist, with very secure storage. Would definitely stay again if in this area of Scotland.
