Jay and I called in for a couple of drinks before retiring on the advice of Katherine at Limetree guest house and we were impressed with the lovely bar. The service was great and we were made to feel very welcome. Looks like a nice place to stay if you're visiting Moffat try The Star.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for a night in May based on good reviews that we had read. The room was fine - clean and tidy, comfortable bed, well appointed room, and a quiet neigbourhood. It is indeed a narrow hotel and quaint for that reason. The dining room seemed to be the widest room in the... More

It was spacious, clean, tidy with a big ensuite bathroom. The only thing we would say is better signs are needed as to were to check in as we were unsure... More

First off this hotel has been there since the 1700's so expect an older building. We loved it. It is in the Guiness Book of Records as being the narrowest hotel...and it sure is, at the front. Once inside it just keeps going. Couple of bars and a restaurant, all feel warm and welcoming. The welcome from the staff is... More

Great hospitality very welcoming and a good nights rest. Good range of choice on the menu, excellent food and relaxed ambiance in the restaurant and the Full Scottish breakfast was very enjoyable - set us up for the day.
