We stayed for a couple of nights recently on a mini-break in the area. On phoning to book and to check some details with Jonathan, the co-owner, he gave us a few pounds off the online price bringing it just under £100 per night B&B in their Superior Room 1. The inn is a historic building located on the main... More

Just spent a week at The Ship Inn and I can honestly say its the best place I've ever stayed in. The owner Jonathon will do anything for you really nice guy. The rooms are spotless, breakfast was excellent, great whiskey selection and the white pudding was amazing.

This little inn is a real gem. Furnishings, decor, bedrooms, ensuites etc are of the highest standard and fresh, new and spotless. Jonathan, who runs the show, could not be more helpful. All in all many bigger and more highly priced establishments would have difficulty competing. For good measure Gatehouse of Fleet is a pretty and well preserved small village. This is as good... We have just stayed one night at the Ship Inn on our way up to Ardrossan. It is a lovely place, with excellent rooms and very friendly service. The breakfast was very good. Although they don't serve dinner we were given a discount voucher for the Masonic Arms, which is also in the village. Would certainly visit again

Having stayed in this hotel many of times, when it used to be the Anworth and under its former management I can safely say this was the most enjoyable stay yet. The new owner (sorry I didn't catch your name!) is incredibly friendly and the rooms are all very fresh and well decorated. Breakfast in the morning was fabulous too.... More
