We found this place at the last moment before going on a ghost walk in the town. Very empty when we we there but then again it was a Wednesday. We were in a rush and were served quickly and the food produced in about 20 minuets. The cost was very cheap indeed. All 7 of us ate for £60... More

Stopped for a night after three nights of wild camping in the camper van. Wanted a night in civilisation. We didn't get it: hotel was tired and shabby; bed was horrendously uncomfortable and on a slope; paper thin walls so could hear everything people in next room were saying; light above the door (presumably a security light?) was on all... I went here a few years ago and the hotel was a bit tired but clean. Went back with some friends and could not believe how it had went downhill. Flooring in bedroom and bathroom was disgusting , Only one light in bathroom and the other one hanging by the wires. Extractor fan broken and telly not working. In the bar/restuarant... More

Popped in here for a spot of lunch ,food was average ,the staff were friendly enough but obviously overworked .This place seriously needs some TLC because it has such potential and is ideally located in the centre of town.

Went to the Queensberry for lunch today with my partner and we can definitely say we won't be back. First of all we went to sit in one of the booths but there was a huge hole and rip in the seat so sat on another table that we soon realised was dirty and sticky. Restaurant is very dark and... This hotel is such a good location that even though the 2 flights of steep stairs to mediocre bedrooms last year should have put me off I decided to try again this year. Even worse. The full price for the accommodation was deducted 2 days before our arrival and again on arrival leaving us with a cash flow situation until... More

Came here as a last resort due to the granary having a fire alarm. My partner and 1yr old daughter. Place was empty for a busy period, my partner asked for a proper baby seat, to be told only wooden ones now. Sat my daughter in this atrocity with no tray for her food, she began climbing out it, had... More

Had been here earlier on in the year and waiting time and food were awful. We thought maybe it was a one off and went back yesterday , but oh no it was worse. Table dirty, we waited over an hour for food , came out as two then five minute wait, then one, wait again. If the food had... More
