Three of us stayed for 2 nights and the hotel and staff couldn't have been more accommodating. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left everyone was extremely friendly, the hotel was great value, the breakfast was just what we needed and we will definitely be looking to come back next year. Thanks, definitely made the weekend even...

Just returned from a lovely weekend stay at the Glen and cannot recommend it highly enough. The local area is beautiful and perfect for a relaxing weekend away. The hotel itself is fabulous! Very clean and conveniently located. The family are so welcoming it's almost like a home from home. The rooms are comfortable and well sized too. We had...

I truly do not believe that the review before me was accurate.....sour grapes Alison W. ....but you obviously have got confused with another Glen Hotel. The standard of food and the presentation is absolutely spectacular and believe me, I have dined in Michelin starred restaurants and eaten in many fine places. The glen hotel presents excellent food delivered in a...

This hotel may well be nice to stay in, but if you are looking for an enjoyable dinner, then we would suggest you go elsewhere. Three reasons we did not particularly enjoy dining here...1) Usually you are shown to your table before the food arrives, but we were sitting at the bar waiting when the waitress appeared with 2 plates,...

We are a little confused with this review entitled "Fine dining.....but not here" as we have never advertised nor do we see ourselves as a "Fine Dining" restaurant. Various types of restaurant fall into several industry classifications based upon menu style, preparation methods and pricing. Additionally, how the food is served to the customer helps to determine the classification. We...

A small and very nice dog friendly hotel, rooms comfortable and clean, good food including a fabulous full cooked breakfast. Our dog was made to feel very welcome and we were even allowed to bring him into the bar/dining area. Which was great as some hotels you can't leave your dog alone in the room or have them in the...

Having to stay in Selkirk for an 8 o'clock meeting on the Monday morning, after making the arrangements at short notice I was luck to be able to stay at this lovely and friendly hotel. I was greeted by the owner on my arrival and given the information on my room and when evening meals were served. The room was...

We stayed in early december after booking last minute. we were delayed by some freak weather and were well after the allocated check in times. we called ahead and asked if we could check in late and if there might be some food available. we were delighted to be told that fish and chips would be available when we arrived,...

We raced for Selkirk with a storm looming and the roof of my Audi cabriolet refusing to close. We asked if we could sit in the bar whilst waiting for the RAC. However, we were given an alternative to the 90+minute wait - waterproof coats for a dash back to Lockerbie. We had a dry and memorable drive in the...
