Super week in the beautiful borders. Aikwood Tower is fabulous, cosy and grand at the same time, the Roland Corbin artwork was also a highlight! We could have stayed for ever. Our girls enjoyed a train ride to Edinburgh (the National Museum of Scotland was amazing), and local walks were lovely.

Thank you Julia for your lovely review - and also to the girls for such a great drawing of Aikwood that they left us! Am really glad you all had such a fun half-term and that you got to explore so much of the local area. Hopefully the memories will be last a long time!

From the booking process to leaving and even after, Aikwood was a dream. We booked aikwood for a week with our wedding in the middle. Vicki and her team were superb. the beds are from another planet, like ridiculous. so comfy and big enough to get lost in. kitchen is perfect size and utensils are good quality and plentiful. Bathrooms...

Thank you! We loved being part of such a beautiful, intimate family wedding - you had all put in so much effort in the preparations and that absolutely made it a wonderful day. We hope we get to see both of your families again!

Just come back from a relaxing week staying at Aikwood Tower. What a fabulous place to stay. There were just the 2 of us plus our dog, Norman. It was great having the whole place to ourselves. The attention to detail makes the place. The fixtures and fittings are of a really high quality, i.e. The unbelievable comfortable Duxiana beds,...

Thank you Nigel, Jakki and Norman! I'm really pleased you all had such a good time, not only enjoying Aikwood but also some of our favourite local haunts too! Autumn really is a spectacular time of year in the Ettrick Valley - you picked a super time to visit us.

Despite having read great reviews on multiple websites, this place far exceeded our expectations. We We were 10 people who stayed here comfortably and were really glad we did versus staying in multiple hotel rooms. It's located in a beautiful setting where one really gets to enjoy the surroundings. We even made trips up to the Highlands. Roddy is a...

My wife Jenny booked this for our holiday/birthday treat with friends and family. A wonderful experience to be able to stay in such an historic building which has been very sympathetically restored. I lived in one of the cottages at Oakwood 45 years ago when the tower was little more than a farm building, (but fun to play in) so...

We really enjoy this Tower. It was so unique. The beds were very comfortable and Roddy was helpful. It's a beautiful area. I would recommend staying and enjoying the area as opposed to traveling far distance to Edinburgh. We drove too much. Other than that it was a wove refuel trip for us.

My stepdaughter booked this for their wedding venue and the families spent the whole week there! We had a fantastic time! The weather was so good we had the ceremony on the lawn with the tower in the background. It's obviously "quirky" and the spiral staircase takes some getting used to (We live in a bungalow normally, but stayed in...

Thank you for all your lovely comments about Aikwood. We're so pleased you got to enjoy it in all its May sunshine, and I love it when an outside ceremony plan comes together! We do struggle a bit with the wi-fi - it's really down to the thickness of the walls and as we're so remote, we're just on the...

We booked Aikwood through their website for a family getaway to celebrate my mother's 70th birthday. Roddy dealt with the booking which was very straight forward. The children's comments and drawings in our Guest Book still keep making me smile! I love that they made Aikwood their own and now have their own wee Wizard stories to share and remember!
