We have been here a couple of times and have had excellent service. My daughter is Vegan and we phoned in advance to ask if they would able to cater for her and were told no problem. When we arrived they talked to her about what she did/didn't like and then cooked her an amazing meal. An older gentleman in... More

Had 2 meals here while in Ettrickbridge for a week. Have no complaints. Average prices but food brilliant. One vegetarian option but my daughter was very happy eating it twice. Menu changes regularly. Staff in bar are very friendly. A very casual atmosphere well suited to those with an open mind.

Quaint little pub in the Ettrick Valley. Recently decorated and improved since we were last here years ago. The bar area is pleasant and inviting plus the bar has a good gin bar selection although the staff do need some training in the methods & current thinking of gin mixes and options for the different brands, we found ourselves running... From the minute we arrived we were made to feel completely welcome. My husband and I went here on a groupon and most frequently you are handed a groupon meal menu - not the case here - we got the biggest prawn cocktail ever! the food was so amazing we instead of eating out the second evening came back here... 8 of us had pre-booked a table for lunch and it was all ready for our arrival. Initial drinks order taken at the bar was served promptly to our table. Food was ordered and took quite a while to come - but as 7 of us wanted the same dish (fish and chips) this was probably not that easily managed... More

We visited this pub for dinner on a Saturday evening and to be honest we were the only people in there although we were told that there was a big event in a nearby town which had attracted all the crowds! Also, there appeared to be a new member of staff serving us who was clearly under training. That said... More

WE stopped off for a drink and entered a classic traditional pub with lots of atmosphere and an unbelievable selection of gins - and an equally impressive selection of malt whiskies. Very welcoming and friendly service.
