It was a dreadful wet and windy day, very cold, with icy rain. So we decided to go out for lunch. First impressions excellent, with a log fire blazing in the bar - no gas coal effect here but a real fire and it created such a warm welcome, reinforced by our Polish waitress - friendly and smiling and could...

Just home from a very relaxing weekend break at Burt's. Great hotel, and great staff - couldn't do enough for us during our stay. Room was spotless, very comfortable bed plus the food both in the restaurant and bar was excellent - highly recommend and will definitely go back. We could park easily and were quickly registered with the very personable owner. We had to climb two flights of stairs to our room but when we got there, it was modern, clean and comfortable. No issues there at all. Breakfast good too. Staff were efficient and welcoming throughout. We were attending an evening function in the hotel. The meal...

They do a lot of things right at Burts. Good Food. Comfortable rooms. Pleasant staff. Great location in the centre of town. Pricing commensurate with services provided. All make for a pleasant stay. No hesitation of returning in the future.

Had a family gathering for our Aunts 80th Birthday. We had the small private dining room which was perfect. Lovely room, wonderful set table, staff very attentive, food fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

An excellent Hotel. Good accommodation. Excellent food and drink. Brilliant staff. Off-street parking. Five minutes from the main A7 through road. 40 mins by train to Edinburgh. Anyone who is visiting the Borders for whatever reason should stay at Burts - highly recommended.

We always pop into Burt's when we're in Melrose. The bar is very warm and welcoming, with comfortable chairs and real fires, and if we're in time for lunch, it's always first rate. The staff too are a delight - well trained, cheerful and efficient. For me, the only disappointment, is that you can't get served with food or drink...

Warm and cozy atmosphere and the mushroom soup was to die to, as was the sticky toffee pudding. The attentative staff, particularly the vey pleasant Blond Girl behind...
