My daughter and I stayed here for one night while visiting some relatives. The staff were friendly, attentive, and polite, the house was clean and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We loved that the room had an opening window- so many hotels have windows painted shut, and we both prefer to sleep with it open! The beds were comfortable, and...

Not in the nicest part of town. I guess it overlooked or was close to the river once but now it has the police station and tyre repair depot in the way. But it is only five minutes walk from the railway station, my twin room was OK but a lumpy mattress, superb lighting if you like it bright, workable...

We recently enjoyed a comfortable three night stay in this lovely hotel. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, friendly, & accommodating. Breakfast was great! We enjoyed the welcoming garden, & appreciated the abundance of hanging flower baskets enhancing the exterior of the building. We highly recommend this hotel!

I was working right next door to the Watson lodge guest house so it was ideally positioned for me, my stay there was excellent although the shower in my room wasn't great but I managed, as for Galashiels an absolute gem of a place loved everything about it.

I visited the guesthouse overnight having travelled from Manchester for an interview at the Heriot Watt university. Staff were welcoming and chatty (despite it being quite late when we arrived) and our room was cosy and warm, with a variety of biscuits, chocolates, tea and coffee waiting for us. My only criticism would be I didn't sleep as well as...

Needed to be in Galashiels close to town center and this fit the need. Very friendly, good breakfast, basic accommodations, clean. Could use more comfortable beds, a little hard for me and my wife, and some more closet space. Rooms over back street noisy from pub traffic and weekend revelers, try for front rooms.

Thank you for your comments. As you will agree it is extremely hard to find a bed to fit all preferences! However the mattresses are quite new and so this may have been the cause of your bed feeling a little hard for you. I am pleased you enjoyed your breakfast with us and that the location was suitable to...

I was in Galashiels for business for three nights and found Watson's Lodge cosy, good value and welcoming. The owners were lovely and very friendly as were the rest of the staff. The breakfast was lovely with cooked veggie options on request which you usually only find at bigger chain hotels so I was impressed by this. The room was...

Thank you for your review. Veggie options are very important as are all healthy eating alternatives but a hearty breakfast is often welcome on a break away from home so we strive to cater for all tastes. I am pleased you found us to be friendly and were comfortable during your stay with us. I have passed your comments on...
