Lovely building in a good location. However, the booking confirmation clearly stated that a full breakfast is included - not so, you pay extra for that. The towels were appalling. I can only assume that the owner doesn't care about this, as I now find that previous reviewers have also commented about them

This is the second time i have stayed here. It was myself and work colleagues. Comfy cosy rooms and the gardens are lovely .... we will be staying in this hotel again next year when working in Galashiels.

3 rooms were booked. One was a sitting room with two single beds against the wall but was very temporary looking. The room was actually a sitting room. One room was ok with a double and single bed, apart from the door handle being broken. One room was a snooker room with around 6 single beds arranged around the snooker... More

The house is quirky to say the least, but I like quirky. On entering the property you're immediately met with an eclectic mix of interesting collectables, and nik naks. I was shown to my room and was immediately unhappy but I thought, it's only one night. I was placed in a converted attic space where unless you are under 5feet... More

Beautiful, spacious and comfortable room for 3 with a nice view through a bay window. Looks like an old "castle" - lots of charm. Calm area with private parking. Very clean. Comes with continental breakfast that is very good with fresh bread still hot (in our case). Helpful owner - he gave us a ride to a nearby restaurant that... More

House is full of clutter -some may find this interesting/entertaining, I found it uncomfortable and in poor taste. Beds were terrible so had poor sleep. Our room also smelled a bit 'fusty'. We needed breakfast at 7am first morning and so we had to help ourselves to cereal and toast, however there was no tea/coffee on offer. Second morning the... More

My Experience is more like Jane H than the other 2, I got to Galashiels about lunch time, and although I could have had something to eat in Walkers Café, which I knew formerly as Rowan Café, I visited the Library for an hour. After that I set off walking to binniemyre, although I could have taken the bus to... More

Ok so I very rarely leave a bad review but this place was shocking. Issues with the rooms consisted of: Lights not working in shared bathroom on the first night Stains in room on curtains, carpet, chair and runners Bedding and towels absolutely stunk, I washed my face and when I wiped it with the handtowel I was nearly sick... Booked in on Christmas Eve for two nights. Nobody greeted me with a 'warm Border's welcome' on arrival despite ringing the bell for about 10 mins. The owners were at the supermarket. Phoned them and was told to go to my room. Later asked about arrangements for getting back in and was told the door would be open. Arrived back... More
