Stayed at the first house behind the George Hotel, stayed in room 33 smaller than it looks in the photo on the website but immediate reaction was very nice. An en suite room with good tea tray selection, warm and comfortable however in the bathroom which at first glance was lovely but behind the door was an old radiator on... More

We booked The First House for two nights, Saturday and the Sunday which takes in their Sunday Snug deal. Unfortunately we had to change rooms on the Sunday, as the hotel was booked but that wouldn't be a problem as we planned to go a long walk with the dog on Sunday morning. The room we were given on Saturday... More

We tried everywhere for accommodation in Inveraray for Sunday 9th to Monday 11th Aug.. All outlets were not only full but the prices they were charging (Loch Fyne Hotel -- £460 for 2 nights !!!) were ridiculous. Last attempt was a ''hopefull'' phone call to the George Hotel where we have stayed before. The young chap on the phone said... More

Attached to the George Hotel, this is a great wee place to stay for a night or two in Inveraray. Cheaper than The George and while that is also very nice, we prefer in here as it's nice and peaceful and has great views of Loch Fyne. Also, when there is music on The George itself is very very busy... More

We stayed on 24/5/15 in the first house (36) as part of the sunday snug deal which gives u a bottle of champagne on arrival as well as £50 food allowance (£25 each) and breakfast. I have to say that the food was very good & the breakfast was too. Only small issue is the salt n pepper u pinch... More

Stayed on the top floor of this old house. Very quirky with floors that are uneven, but understandable when you realise the age and history of the house. Bed very comfortable and room clean. One draw back was that there were only net curtains in the bathroom, which at night when you needed to put the light on were not... More

Very poor standard of accommodation. Bed and carpet stained, wardrobe needs repair and bathroom is without privacy due to holey sheer curtains that did not fully close. Spa was surrounded by cracked tiles and heater in bathroom covered in rust. Tried to use spare pillows but those were creased and dirty (used by previous guest?).

As my old headmaster used to say to me, "YOU REALLY NEED TO TRY HARDER" A very comfortable bed but here it stops, an attempt to renovate but failed miserably with a lot of 2nd rate DIY. Unable to open windows, carpet stained, floorboards full or holes and floor sloping quite severely. The restaurant was just ok, over cooked scallops... More

We stayed here overnight on route to Oban. Our room, on the ground floor, overlooking the garden was pleasantly decorated with a small, but functional bathroom; the shower was much better than we have experienced in some more expensive establishments. The breakfast, taken at the adjacent George Hotel is excellent. The room and breakfast was good value for money. The... More

Stay here a couple of times for a week's holiday - Room 4 on both occasions - very large room with a very large comfy bed - Unfortunately on our 2nd visit it had been taken over by The George Hotel and the superb Fish Restaurant from our first visit (our reason for staying here) was closed for renovation. However;... More
