I was warmly welcomed by Neil, who took my bags for me (I told him I'd had a spine op) and he showed me an easier route to my room, avoiding stairs - very thoughtful. He also ensured I got extra teabags and milk as I said I drink a lot of milky tea. Geraldine, the lass who brought them... More

The food was very good and the staff warm and helpful. We had a ground floor room which was clean and comfortable, but the decor was a little tired. While our room had little outlook, the upstairs front rooms would have panoramic views over Campbeltown Loch.

Having failed to find anywhere to eat in the centre of town was recommended to try here. We were shown to the comfortable lounge and sat with a drink whilst perusing the menu. When our food was ready we were taken through to the dining room where there were great views over the river. Food was tasty and hot &... More

A party of us spent a night here in July. Lori had been very helpful during the booking process and the hotel certainly didn't disappoint. A magnificent sandstone and granite building that had started life (apparently) as a maternity home, before going through other incarnations and finally becoming a hotel. The lounge in particular was a great place to relax... More

A little gem of a hotel. We only stayed one night but wished we had booked more. The room overlooked the bay and the views were fantastic. We couldn't fault the room, the staff or the restaurant. We would highly recommend this hotel. We will return.

Our first thoughts were 'Fawlty Towers'. When we arrived, the proprietor was engaged in a loud argument with another guest (I think the guest was at fault), and so our greeting was perfunctory, almost dismissive, with a wave indicating the direction of our room. The ground floor seaside-view room is not connected internally and the pathway to it is not... More

...Perhaps the owners don't think road cyclists are their ideal clientele? Maybe they don't like solo travellers? Perhaps it was because I was from Edinburgh? Came off the ferry?? For whatever reason, my welcome was somewhat perfunctory(!), I wasn't shown to my room, just given some directions, my (expensive) road bike was housed round the back, next to what I... More

Roger and his wife have been lovingly restoring this wonderful building for over twenty years. Ambiance, food and the splendour of the master suite with its incredible views made for a very special weekend. Their knowledge of local history as well as local produce and their willingness to share this was very welcome. Staff were friendly and accomodating. Will definitely... More

Checked in here as needed somewhere close to the ferry terminal - hotel was very convenient for the ferry and Campbeltown itself. Room was basic but clean and the owners welcomed my dog, which gives them a thumbs up from me. Despite being a dog owner I still expect my accommodation to be of a standard where you don't know... They need to employ a good receptionist, the lady could not be bothered with basic courtesies, we were brushed off like flies. Have never stayed in a place so unwelcoming. Building lovely but service overall was terrible. Some of the rooms looked great, ours was on the small side compared to other hotels of the same price. The lady at... More
