Disappointed in this lovely hotel. Room not as good as expected. Few issues with room not being ready at 3p.m. though reception said it was.

We stay here quite often as there are often pretty good deals to be had and they allow dogs. The hotel is in an amazing location if you are a golfer. We had an upgraded room looking over the 1st tee on the golf course which was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is pretty decent and they will make up a table for you in the bar area if you want to bring your dog down. There always seems to be a spare sausage too! We ate dinner in the hotel on both evenings we were there. A good choice of food with a large gluten free selection. Some issues with food arriving cold but front of house staff quick to rectify. Unfortunately the hotel seems to have been bypassed by the craft beer revolution - the only draught ale on tap is Worthington’s which the bar man had the good grace to apologise for. There must be a local brewery in Angus who would love to supply proper beer! (They do have Deuchar’s in bottles so not a complete disaster!).

Just returned from two night stay, after our first visit last summer. Lovely location right at the beach and looking onto the golf course which is a lovely view when eating in the dining room. Lovely food. All dining staff very helpful, especially Robyn, Adam and Natalie

Tuesday 9th, April 2024 I would like to thank Izzy the Spa Massage Therapist, at tge Carnoustie Golf & Spa Hotel, that was so accommodating to me this morning, she was an absolute delight… I had a Back, Neck & Shoulder massage to relieve pain from Osteoarthritis I have in my lower back and shoulders, she was very professional, and knew her work well. I would highly recommend Izzy for all your Spa needs. Thank you Izzy, from a very happy Hotel visitor, if I come through Carnoustie again, , I’ll most certainly ask for you. Allyson MacIntosh/Crieff

We stayed at this hotel for one night and had a meal with drinks. The hotel is located on the beach and has a golf hotel which seems busy with visitors. The hotel is rated 4 stars but it is quite dated and has some wear and tear. The rooms are basic but clean with small double beds. I felt the prices for food were expensive for the type of hotel it was. The cheapest main is around £16, with most mains £20+. I felt that this price point didn’t reflect the venue. My burger was lovely but my partners ham main was small and wasn’t worth the money. Overall our bill for food and drinks was over £100 which I felt was expensive for the type of hotel this was.

This place is an absolute dump, its old and needs refurbishment, the rooms are really quite gross. the reception staff are useless and the restaurant is overpriced for what it is. The staff have no personality so clearly the management is on the nose. the reception never answers their phone and the overall attitude is poor.

No WiFi in bedroom, only at reception lobby. Unhappy teenager! The parking view from the room was disappointing. But the room was nice and spacious with tea/coffee facilities. Breakfast was basic, again disappointing. We didn't eat lunch or dinner at the hotel. I recommend the Thai and Rookery which are lovely. The pool is ok although the changing room feel more like your local council swimming pool than a hotel one. The beds are small. A family room gets 2 small double beds. I didn't sleep because the bed is so small so asked for a bedroom with one larger bed and a single bed for our daughter but was told all the rooms get the same beds.....so I didn't sleep for 2 nights, I am exhausted!

Just returned from an overnight stay on a 5pm deal. Lovely hotel and a wonderful welcome from reception staff. Our room was very clean however a bit dated with a view of a roof and the car park. The spa was fab, very clean and well organised. The breakfast was great, again the staff were amazing. We would definitely return however we would ask for an upgrade to a room with a better view.

On the whole a great hotel, although the cooked breakfast was not very good not what I would have expected from a quality hotel, the food was more like a Travelodge pick your own breakfast, it had been pre cooked and left lying around for a while, maybe they should cook Less and more often, giving a great fresh breakfast, and from previous posts my personal dislikes unprepared tables, had to ask for a teaspoon and butter, surely a supervisor can run round the tables to check them, apart from that, had a very good stay in the hotel
