Ate here on Thursday night whilst on a business trip to the Golf. Wasn't sure what to expect but both the food and service was excellent. Young lady with long blonde hair was our waitress, lovely and smiley and nothing too much trouble for her at all. She is a credit to your establishment. Please pass on our thanks to... More

7 of us stayed at the Aboukir on a golf trip. Everything about this hotel is first class. The accommodation is clean, spacious and great value. The food, both breakfast and dinner were spot on. The hotel has a great bar and the staff are wonderful. I can't praise the hotel enough. 10 out of 10, no question.

Visited for a bar lunch today with friends, all meals were lovely, good size portions really enjoyable. Only negative was the cheese cake, which I expected to be homemade,,which it wasn't. If it had been I would have definitely given full marks. Staff friendly and attentive. Certainly worth a visit.

Had a wonderful stay again thanks to the staff and chef. Rooms are comfortable and good value. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and steaks are top notch. Really great value all round and cosy retreat in winter time.

Experienced welcoming staff, meal served promptly, sadly the curry was not served at the right temperature and the base of the lasagne was burnt to a crisp. Explained to the staff, but no apology! Simple - won't be back! Surprisingly it is up for sale, clearly lack of effort. Why don't owners just close the doors than spoiling others peoples... More

Nice bar and lovely beer garden. Dropped in here for a drink but moved on pretty quickly. There was a group of young folk at the bar who seemed to be trying to make some kind of impression with their choice language..... Not really appropriate guys when there are other folk in and also a couple of young kids. I... More

I have visited this hotel twice in the past three days. The first in the restaurant and the second in the bar. We ate from the same menu which was 2 for £12 on main courses. Both times the meals were excellent, great value for money and all staff were attentive and helpful, particularly the young waitress on duty. I... More

Ordered a cocktail, the majority of which the bartender slopped over the side of the glass and then forgot to shake over ice, so it resulted in a sickly sweet, luke warm concoction. It did however go well with the sticky table top! Surf and turf for meal, which was an oversized portion and a bit mediocre. The waitress was... More
