I literally never leave reviews but I was just looking forward to a nice lunch out and was so underwhelmed. Not much choice on the menu for lunch was either a full main course for £12+ or soup and a sandwich. Asked a couple of questions about our choices to be told 'im not sure' then when got our drinks I had a draught coke which clearly needed the syrup changed, told the waiter who told me 'it will taste different because its draught' (i worked in a pub 10 years so i know when the coke is off) - i advised youve either given me diet by accident or the syrup needs changed to which he said I can have a fanta if i want - at this point i just left it and didn't have a drink as i had asked for a coke. Chicken goujons were ok i was eating them fine until I noticed the chicken was pink in a few places so i stopped eating, and also stopped my 1 year old eating them. Chicken on my Mums meal was tough. Definitely was too expensive for quality, kids meals were £6.95 which i thought was quite a lot for a 1 year old and a 4 year old.

This applies to room 6. Avoid it if you can. The hotel kitchen extractor vent is adjacent to this room. Its loud, persistent hum carried on until 09:45 pm and came on again at 6:50 am. What's more it left a smell of used chip fat hanging in the air of the room Also the room was too hot even after I turned down the radiator. Had to open the skylight windows (no other windows in this room). This made the chip fat smell worse! Also the room is next to a fire door adjacent to the lift so you hear everyone coming through. Positives: friendly, efficient staff and decent breakfast

We visited a couple of times last year during lockdown and the food was good for the meal deal prices, and this was meant to be great return. Do not get me wrong the staff and service was great and Covid security is superb. We opted for battered fish and chips and beef stroganoff with rice and chips. My wife’s fish was great, chips out of the freezer? I had the beef with rice and chips, the beef was a bit dry sauce tasteless and same issue with the chips? When paying between £12.00-£13.00 for a main I would hope for a bit better??

My wife and I visited for tea and were not disappointed. First of all staff for extremely friendly, courteous and ensured Covid controls were being adhered to. The restaurant was clean and fresh inside, hand sanitiser placed in numerous locations along with clear guidance and instructions for all to follow. Secondly the food was very good, my wife opted for a burger and I for the special, seafood linguine. Both these meals were tasty, hot and scoffed within minutes. Two cheesecakes followed and were generously sized portions and extremely tasty. Overall a nice evening with great food and lovely employees. Many thanks, we will be back soon.

Great location on the High Street in Arbroath which is itself an interesting harbour town. Our room was clean, spacious and quiet.....We did not even have to use the free earplugs supplied for the noise from the seagulls (did not hear them at all) but good to know you have them. Hotel has a great restaurant and bar but is also near lots of other places for you to choose from. Breakfast is not included in room price but the choices and prices are very reasonable. All the staff are extremely friendly. We will definitely be back!
