We've been hiking inn to inn, and this is our last stop. And I am so happy! This inn is owned by a Frenchman, and the rooms are outfitted with furnishings from his grandparents' home in France. Ooh La La! Our room, Thistle, is a little small, but very nice and with a an ensuite with a super shower. But... More

On an overnight business trip so was looking for a no frills hotel. The County was recommended as good for food and it did not disappoint. I chose the 3 course bistro menu (£15) and could only manage 2 courses. The Cullen skink was fantastic. The steak pie excellent also. portion are very generous and I probably should not have... The food here is superb. The boards outside are a bit baffling - they give no idea of what to expect but once inside the atmosphere is pleasant in a lovely old building. The chef is the owner. He came to talk to us as were unsure about the difference between the bistro and the restaurant and he was very... More

Hidden away in Banff is this surprising hotel. Small, and a period piece. Run by Eric, who is a Frenchman from Montpellier and his wife Vida (an airlines stewardess), it's friendly, comfortable and has some seriously good cooking. Eric loves to talk about food, and if you stay for more than a day, he will discuss options on his menu.... More

I stayed here with family whilst visiting family that live in Banff and Macduff. The hotel was very clean and quiet which is just how I like it. The room I stayed in was the Salmon room which has beautiful views of the bay. We had a meal at the evening which was very nice as was the breakfast the... More

I stayed here for one night and was very impressed. The host (Eric) was very friendly and a very personable character and the hotel was very interesting. It had bags of character and the food was excellent as well. After a long road trip, the Cullen Skink soup made by Eric was the best I've had in ages.

I thought the rooms were overpriced for the type of accomodation. Tired and old fashioned in its interior. Bed was too soft for my personal choice. Good powerful shower, great breakfast. Jolly, friendly host. Was clean, but in need of an update or a lower price to suit.

Charming period property hotel with delightful hosts and staff. Very quirky decor. Lovely views from adequate room, but sadly bed not comfortable. Ideally situated in the high street with parking to the rear. Lovely food. Can recommend, but check bedfirst!

Stayed here for 3 nights through Work and it was a pleasant stay not the best I've stayed in but by far not the worst... room was clean and tidy and warm when heating on although not double glazed so will be cold in winter.... food at night was excellent especially the mushroom soup and steak pie I had and... We had a wedding in Banff and the Banff Springs was full so booked into county, it's very tired looking but bed was comfy. The hotel was very noisy at 7am with lots of banging doors, there was no breakfast menu just what would you like, my husband wanted bacon sausage and hash brown or fried bread but got 1... More
