Looking for a hotel to attend a funeral we were offered an excellent deal in a patio room as we had to bring our dogs. Traditional in style with immaculate grounds, friendly and first class service with decent food for a hotel restaurant. Well appointed, comfy lounge for pre and post dinner drinks. We had none of the issues experienced by a previous reviewer so seems like their experience was a ‘ one-off’. Watch out for the deer in the grounds!

Today I visited the hotel for coffee and cakes with my Mum and Aunt and the service was not what would be expected of a 5 star hotel. We sat in the drawing room and the staff on duty were very poor with regards to attention to guests, the service was slow, they didn’t seem to know much about the menu, which was such a shame considering the lovely surroundings. On a positive note, when we received our food it was delicious. It was not as if the place was busy which I would have understood the poor service. I also noticed an elderly lady who was sat alone in the next table to us who actually had to go and ask for a menu after sitting for over 20 minutes, she then ordered a glass of wine which didn’t arrive until after asking for a 2nd time. To be honest I feel the senior management or even to owner need to know about todays experience and speak to the staff who were on duty in the drawing room about their role and responsibilities in a lovely 5 star hotel. Regards

What an absolutely wonderful hotel. Lovely staff and amazing rooms. Breakfast is brilliant. Service in the bar a little slow though. Possibly due to staffing issues. But that doesn’t take away from the fact that this is the only hotel I will use when in Aberdeen!

Really nice room, definitely worth 5 stars. Nice quiet location, which is about 10-15 mins drive from city centre. There are quite a few weddings and other events at the hotel, but we were not disturbed by these. A good selection at breakfast, which brings me on to probably the best thing about the hotel, which is the staff who literally cannot do enough for you, whether its the staff in the restaurant or on the desk. Really enjoyed our stay.
