We absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful hotel. The staff were excellent; so friendly and helpful. Our room was amazing. One of the nicest, most comfortable hotel rooms we have ever stayed in. The comfiest bed and a fantastic bathroom. The best thing was that our dog was welcome too. I would definitely recommend this hotel. We will hopefully go again sometime. Aberdeen is a lovely city and there is plenty to see and do nearby.

The hotel has a lovely garden & you don't really realise that you are not right in the country. Rooms are very quiet Bumpy start on arrival after a long drive- i had not picked up the messages from the hotel asking to book dinner timings in advance so only offered 5.30 dinner & 8.30 or 10.30 at breakfast- a suggestion that did not go down well. The alternatives were not explained well (dinner in the bar & room service breakfast) which once identified were fine. In the event maitre d in the restaurant squeezed us in anyway without us asking. After that things looked up fast. Large comfortable clean room with a good bed. Lovely paneled restaurant with friendly helpful staff. Really good choice of food prepared well for dinner & breakfast was great too. Room service breakfast was fresh & on time The hotel has been offering very good dinner b&b rates and I thought excellent value. Reflecting this you might need to be fast to get a weekend booking The hotel has managed to keep a bar lounge going in these covid times & overall its a very comfortable hotel with bright & breezy staff. Recomended especially if you can get a great deal. Go soon before the hotel ups its rates!

We stayed for a 3-night break in September and were very impressed by the property and the grounds - almost like something owned by the National Trust. We were on a dinner, break and breakfast deal which was good value and the food was excellent too. Stupidly we left a couple of items behind when we checked out and the hotel contacted us and posted them on - definitely going the extra mile.

Upon first arrival the place looks a bit past it's best, the stonework looking a bit worn etc. However it has a friendly staff, we had a large room and a good breakfast. Very reasonably priced too! A good overnight stop. Would recommend.

my wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in a superior room the building is nice with some period features both outside and inside - we especially liked the grand staircase and we enjoyed the restaurant, bar and library. check in was straightforward with everything explained and all staff wearing face coverings and maintaining the social distance as far as possible. our room was nice and a good size. the evening meals in the restaurant were good although choice was limited but this was acceptable under the current circumstances and having just re opened. we had breakfast served to our room on both days so I cannot comment on breakfast in the restaurant all staff were very pleasant and we felt at ease despite the restrictions due to the current pandemic. overall a pleasant stay and we will consider returning if in the area.
