This hotel is located away from the main touristy spots in Newcastle. It is situated on the edge of a residential housing estate and has a good supermarket and petrol station on its door step, handy. There are good views of the mourne mountains to the front but the views at the rear are of uninteresting farm land. Nevertheless you...

We will never be back. Waited over 30 minutes on a menu and after waiting a further 45 minutes to place our order we decided to leave as the staff didn't seem interested in serving us. There were 2 tables being served and the rest of the restaurant was empty. We were there for an anniversary meal just passing through...

Took advantage of the spa, overnight, dinner and breakfast deal. Great value. 6 adults and we all had a wonderful time. Spa was wonderful, I have to say having visited lots of spas in the past, that was hands down the BEST massage I ever had (thanks amy!) Just beautiful. We took advantage of other amenities, like pool, jacuzzi, sauna...

Stayed for one night b&b with an evening meal included. Hotel was busy, staff were polite, rooms were clean and tidy. Dinner was ok, breakfast was better. The pool and spa facilities were also good. Would reccomend for a cheap family night away, as location is good for beach and forest park. Great for kids! Will be returning in future...

Just recently spent two night break in the Burrendale. This is the third time I spent a short stay here. Very well run hotel and on all occasions found decor to be first class. Used the leisure facilities for the first time and these amazing. Only one downside for me were the cooked breakfasts. Bacon and sausages undercooked,in fact not...

Went here recently for a spa day, having usually came to this hotel for weddings and dinner, I was invited by a member of my family for a spa day. From the moment we arrived we were very well taken care of by the wonderful staff of The Burrendale, who explained to us what treatments they had available and all...

Spent a night here recently and have only big positives and one wee teeny weeny niggle about this hotel. From the moment we checked in to the moment we left there was not one minute that was not enjoyable. Staff are friendly and courteous, bedrooms are spacious and clean, beds are very comfortable. We had 2 lunches, one breakfast and...

We called in last Sunday on our way past. The restaurant was busy with confirmation diners, but we were seated immediately by a very friendly member of staff. As a vegetarian, I love the Burrendale as it is approved by the Vegetarian Society. The vegetarian choices are varied and tasty. The staff are very friendly, and can't do enough for...

After trekking all day in the Mourne Mountains we were looking for somewhere nice for dinner. We called in at the Burrendale and as there was a wedding taking place we were ushered into the bar. There was such a lovely ambience in the place. Staff were really attentive and the food was fantastic. I had a chicken caesar salad...
