The room was lovely and cosy. The staff couldn't do enough to help us and the facilities were brilliant! Fabulous meeting rooms. Catering was perfect and the overall experience means I would highly recommend this for anyone who is planning a conference or a personal break.

Great looking hotel but thats it. Sorry the concierge is a great guy but went down hill after that. Have stayed in many hotels and generally they are all great but this was terrible. Arrogant staff poorly supervised by hopelessly inadequate managers. Be warned they do not take criticism well even if was warrented! Stay clear!

Took my daughter and husband to have Afternoon tea. I wasn't very impressed! When we arrived we stood around like a bad smell waiting for someone to show us to our table. Sat for a further ten minutes for someone to take our order. The tea arrived which was lovely but by the time the sandwiches and stuff arrived Some...

My wife and I attended for a wedding in May 2017 and we arrived early and ordered 2 cups of coffee, which when they arrived came in small cups costing £8.50, ridiculous. We thought the food to be bog standard, nothing special for such an alleged high end hotel? The price of alcohol is absolutely scandalous and totally unjustified. Will...

I stayed at the Merchant for 2 nights. The staff were great and attentive. My room had a balcony and the gods were happy because it was sunny all week. Breakfast in the great room was probably the best breakfast venue at a hotel I've ever been to.

My wife and I were staying elsewhere in Belfast but had lunch in the Grand Hall dining room. Service was superb. Waiter explained that the pork wellington was created from scratch and would take approximately 20 to 30 minutes. We were in no rush, and the wait was well worthwhile, The food was beautifully presented, and tasted wonderful Desserts were...

The main dining room magnificent ceiling is like non other church adorned master piece, our dining in royal splendor, red velvet, all course silver set out, waiter very professional uniformed, prompt and attentive to every detail, dress nicely, food is excellent-starters, salads, mains and desserts, sort of clumsy layout but had to keep historic atmosphere, elevator down from rooms then...

The Merchant Hotel is a beautiful architectural hotel. But, it has the misfortune of being located across a very narrow street, Skipper Street, from an outdoor bar. This bar is very noisy until late into the night. It makes sleep almost impossible. Adding to the noise is the Merchant's own casual bar, the Cloth Ear. This is located directly under...

My husband and I booked a night here for my birthday. We were not disappointed, from the friendly, welcoming staff at reception on arrival to the taxi on departure! The room was magnificent, the attention to detail from staff, beautiful cocktails in the bar, not forgetting my chocolates, card and birthday balloon🎈 Breakfast in the great hall the next morning...

Went for birthday celebration. Reception 10 out of 10. Staff 10 out of 10. Menu. 10 out of 10. Food 10 out of 10. Bill was even better as son in law paid. A most wonderful experience in fabulous surroundings.
