we took this little break and it was well worth it, very pleasant staff, great service and a great nights sleep. the rooftop hot tub is a must we done it late to avoid others and had it in the snow which was excellent.

Just spent a night at the Merchant - too short! The hotel is classified as 5 star and it doesn't take long to realise why. The reception staff are extremely professional without being aloof. When I walk through the doors of the Merchant I instantly relax - the staff are so fantastic, Four Seasons level. Chris at reception checked us in and he was great - really friendly and helpful. Our beautiful suite, 'Larkin' was perfect, really comfortable bed, lovely deep bath and dual shower. Dinner in the Great Room was delicious as always...

Stunning. Impressive ambience, perfect for a glass of champagne and olives with and oak fire, live bassist/pianist, HUGE chandelier, very expensive and beautiful architecture. Certainly come here for 1/2 hours as a break into your day :-)
