We were staying at the hostel with 11 people during a big sports event in Belfast. We enjoyed our stay and used breakfast and diner at the Causeway Cafe, Friendly people and I can recommend it. City center is nearby and can be reached by bus or a 10 minutes walk.

Hello Jeroen, It was a pleasure hosting you guys during the European Tug of War Championships this year. It's good to know you enjoyed your time in Belfast, and at the hostel, even if things could have gone a little better for you in the competition. I'm glad you made good use of the Causeway Cafe while you were here... More

This is a great place to stay if you're on a budget and happy with the hostel experience. They have basic but clean and adequate rooms, really helpful and friendly staff who are extremely professional, a really cheap and well-stocked cafe and solid facilities. It's on a quiet road, and I would definitely stay there again in I return to... More

Perfect comments Rhys: thank you. It great that you emphasise 'budget' and 'hostel experience' in your review: I guess if you are expecting a budget hotel, and the facilities that a hotel room provides, then you might be a little disappointed. We provide good value, clean, safe, central accommdation in Belfast city centre with all of the facilities you would... More

Very nice place, fair location and with enough park spaces. Good value. Food was good altough not included the breakfast. . Shared shower was not a problem as it was located right in front of our room.

Good staff and big kitchen, plus there's a nice café serving good and not to expensive breakfast in the same building. The hostel is halfway from Queen's University and the "downtown" area, so the location is excellent.

Thank you for your great review and positive comments. Reviews are not always that easy to respond to - sometimes there is obviously a huge gap between expectation and reality - often there's a hint of "I don't like staying in Youth Hostels but I couldn't find anywhere else' - so reading one which emphasises the good things (good staff,... Two of us stayed here for one night. Good location as we had to get the bus to Dublin in the morning. The room was small with just the one bunk bed and a sink. This was fine for us as it is what we are used to when travelling around but others may not like it. Just down the... More

My hostel review dichotomy of the day: 'great', but also 'nothing special'. Seriously though thank you for taking the time to write a review after your visit this summer: I am very happy with your 4* score and am pleased that you enjoyed your short stay and found the location convenient for both public transport and for places to eat... Staff were friendly and helpful, hostel cafe had excellent food which was good value, and it is within walking distance of plenty of Belfast tourist attractions and amenities. The room itself was okay - very basic which can be expected from a hostel. We stayed in a private twin room which was a nice size for the two of us.... More

Thank you for the ID tip for future bookers: our ID policy is clearly stated on booking websites but staff are sometimes given quite a difficult time at check in. Other than that thank you for your excellent comments about our staff, location and the cleanliness of your twin room. I hope you will come back and see us next... More

Please keep in mind this is a hostel so don't expect a fancy or luxurious room. In hostel terms, the room was slightly below average, small prison style room with a slight stench coming from the old carpet. But your not spending your time in your room so who really cares right? Location is excellent! Price was great. Staff were... More

Thank you for you mostly positive comments Mike. Location: excellent. Price: great. Staff: helpful. Security: excellent. That's all good, and the basis of a great review. It is always slightly worrying when a guest arrives and asks if we are the International Hotel, not the best start when we are a hostel with hostel-style rooms. That said we are lucky... More

The staff is friendly but apart from that thats it. Its far away from.everything in town. The rooms are really small and some bathrooms have no lights The showers are good and there are pleanty of them on each floor. The curtains in the rooms dont block the light and some windows dont close. And there are constructions going on... More

We really liked this one. We had two side by side rooms for four. The bathrooms were painted funny, but seemed clean and private. Wifi only worked in lobby. Thank you for your 4* review: it great to read that you really liked our hostel and staff! It sounds as if you had a relatively normal hostel experience: a quiet night and a not so quiet night (we have a 'quiet time', are staffed 24 hours, and try to make sure that guests are not disturbed after 11pm but...
