I was unable to find reasonable accommodation in city centre, so I booked at the Somerton House. I took cabs to and from the city centre (at 6 pm and at 7 am) and the fares were £6-7. There is also a bus stop a block and a half away. The owner was kind and checking in and out was... More

Free upgrade to en suite room due to availability. Host was courteous and had much happening - place was very busy - clean even with some maintenance going on with the property. Breakfast was good and a nice variety (accommodated to allergies). Nice en suite facilities - great water temperature and pressure. Sleep was a bit disrupted by other guests... More

A wonderful place. The owners Mannix and Elaine are very welcoming and knowledgeable. Just a two block walk to bus that takes you to the city center. Also walking distance to Belfast Castle. Stayed in room on top floor. Very cozy room with twin beds and skylight. Would definitely stay again.

I stayed at this facility as a solo traveler. The place is really clean and the owner was nice. I didn't have that much interaction with him but I would sometimes ask him for directions and he was kind so were the Irish I met along the way. My only negative is that I thought I made all the payments... More

Usually I stay in South Belfast when I stop over there. This time, though, I thought I might want one night in North Belfast (personal circumstances), and the only other place nearby was full. At that time that there was more than a 50% chance that circumstances would cause me to cancel. So I looked for a cancellable reservation, and... More

My wife and I, along with our daughter, recently spent two nights at Somerton House. We had one double room and one single room. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever. Mr McAlister was very friendly, easy-going, and offered up some great choices for dining options in the area (his suggestion of the Bellview Arms was spot-on). Our rooms were spotless, spacious, comfortable... More

The House was well located and a very easy bus trip to town or about 10 GBP taxi journey. The room was well equipped, clean and comfortable. The owners very friendly. The breakfast was fantastic and quickly served - fresh and hot. Would highly recommend this place.

Mr McAlister (host) was very helpful with advice on getting around the city. He'll call you a cab, if needed, and the house is located a mere 5 min walk to the nearest bus stop to take us to the city center. Very comfortable room--spacious, clean, and nicely furnished. Guests are invited to use the common room and the wide... More

My girlfriend and I stayed here during a driving golf/distillery holiday of Scotland Ireland in August 2015. This B&B is located relatively close to the ferry terminal (but still at driving distance). We had no issues here. The host Mannix was pleasant, showed us our room and then let us relax. The room was on the smaller side, but perfectly... More

Beautiful guest house. In a quiet area, beautiful views. Our double room was perfect (room 6). Bed was very comfortable and the whole place was spotless. The hosts were lovely and made you feel very welcome. The breakfast was delicious and they were very prompt with the service. Would highly recommend.
